Amy’s Inkin’ Krew December Blog Hop– “Celebrate”

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew December Blog Hop– “Celebrate”

Happy Tuesday everyone!  How has the weather been where you are?  Here in Georgia we have had rain, rain, rain and more rain.  We have a wedding this week-end and it is outside, so here’s to hoping that the weather is good, at least no rain.

It’s that time again for our team blog hop.  Be sure to check out all the blogs, this is a talented group and you will find lots of inspiration.  Our theme for the month is “Celebrate”.  We do have lots to celebrate this month–4 family birthdays, a wedding, Christmas, 3 friends birthdays, one being one of our team member Linda Richenberg.  Enough chatter, let’s get on with the hop!

I have been seeing these one sheet wonders that people are making, and of course, I wondered how many cards can I get out of one 12″ x 12″ piece of DSP, so that is what you are seeing today One Sheet Wonders.  I even have a strip that I didn’t get cards made and will do so later, so I can say I used the entire piece of DSP.

You can see the individual cards at the bottom of the post after the listing of the blog participants.  It was fun making these cards.  I have put the measurement of the DSP used for each card with the card.  You can see the piece I had left after making 11 cards.    Now that I have done this, I have to try it again with a different DSP and different designs.  Many of the design layouts are very similar  but it means I used a larger piece of paper for those cards.

Have fun as you hop on over to visit the rest of the Krew’s blogs and see what a bunch of talented ladies they are. It will be worth your while. Clicking on the  “Next” button will take you to Sue Prather  and the”Previous” button will take you to Karen Ksenzakovic . You can also click on the individual names.

Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods

Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods

Happy Saturday!  Do you have fun Christmas shopping planned or just a relaxing week-end?  Whatever you have planned, stay dry.  The weather outside is terrible.  Almost to bad to venture out in it.

I am using the Winter Woods stamp bundle and the Nature Sings stamp set for my card today.

The theme for my card is from Global Design Projec #GDp167 ‘Tis The Season.  It is truly the best time of the year for me anyway, I love celebrating Christmas.

There is very little instructions for this card as it is so easy.  The base is Shaded Spruce cut 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″.  The next layer is Whisper White card stock that has been cut 4″ x 5-1/4″.  This panel first has a tree cut from it using the Winter Woods bundle. It is then embossed using the Softly Falling TIEF. The negative space from the cut  has a green panel of All is Bright glued behind it to make the green tree.   The  Whisper White tree is popped on the Whisper White panel with Stampin Dimensionals.

The greeting from the Nature Sings stamp set  is stamped in Shaded Spruce ink on a scrap of Whisper White and cut out with Paper Snips, highlighted with Shaded Spruce ink and popped on the Whisper White panel using Mini Stampin Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is stamped on a panel of Whisper White using Shaded Spruce ink. It, also, is from the Nature Sings stamp set.  A tree has been cut from the Whisper White panel to reveal the green to give the appearance of a tree.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope  you like my simple easy card and will give it a try.  Any questions, give me an email.  As always my wish is that you find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used in Creating This Card

Stampin’ Up! Nature Sings

Stampin’ Up! Nature Sings

Are you all tired out from Christmas shopping, Christmas is fast approaching.  There is always lots and lots of hurrying about and preparing and it is over much too soon.  I love  Christmas time, not for the getting of presents but for the giving.  I listen to conversations all year and tuck away, as I am sure many of you do,  bits of information on what people say they would just love to have that.

Today’s card is from the Nature Sings stamp set and the All is Bright DSP.  It was a very easy card to make but it shows the celebration great of all the decorations. My inspiration comes The Paper Players Challenge for this week.

The card starts with a base by using a card base from the Foiled Edge Cards and Envelopes from the Holiday Catalog.  Using these as card bases saves a lot of time, plus you get the added benefit of having a gold border that gives the appearance of a mat.

The Christmas ornament panel from the All is Bright DSP is cut 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ and then cut on the diagnoal to leave a space for your greeting.

The celebrate is cut from the Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper.  Three extra celebrates were cut from Real Red card stock to give some dimension to the word.  Each one is adhered  to the other using a Stampin’ Up! Adhesive Sheet (page 213 in the Annual Catalog).  A piece was cut and adhered to the Real Red card stock each time the word was cut.  This make it so much easier to adhere the layers together.  The final cut is adhered to the center of the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Celebrate doesn’t look too red in the pictures, but it is red.

The inside sentiment is from the Nature Sings stamp set and is stamped in Memento Black In on a panel of Whisper White that has been edged with Real Red ink using a Sponge Dauber.

Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog.  My hope is that you liked my card and found encouragement or inspiration and will visit again soon.

Is it Joyous Noel or Dashing Deer?

Is it Joyous Noel or Dashing Deer?

Welcome

This is a bright and shiny card for today.

I’m play at the  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge. It is WWC198 – Gail’s “All About Holidays” Challenge.    It looks like it will be fun.

and the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #178 Pretty Punches  For Stamp, Ink, Paper’s one hundred and seventy eighth challenge we are asked  to dig out some punches! We can also use dies if that’s all we have. I had to use dies.

My card is featuring the Dashing Deer stamp bundle and the Joyous Noel DSP.  They go well together.  My card started with a base of Tranquil Tide. I used  panels from a Copper Foil Sheet to cut the mats for all the Joyous Noel DSP panels.  The Dashing Deer is also cut from a panel of the Copper Foil as is the mat for the greeting “Joy” which has been stamped in Versa Mark and heat embossed using Copper Embossing Powder.  Before I finally cut the deer from the Copper Foil, I tried several different colors for the deer and even considered cutting and embossing it with the Copper Embossing Powder, then realized “Hey I have the Copper Foil paper, I don’t need to emboss.”

The inside sentiment is stamped in Versa Mark then heat embossed using Copper Embossing Powder.  The two deer  used to embellish the sentiment panel are also heat embossed with the Copper Embossing Powder.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like my card and that you find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.
