Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies

Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies & Dies, Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Stamp Set, Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder, and Spotlight On Nature Dies.

I am entering

613 Avenue Create Challenge

CYHTP  — Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge

Triple B — Birds Butterflies, & Blooms

Seize The Birthday — Anything Goes

Since I bought all the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, I decided it was time to put it to use.  It made for easy but beautiful cards.  That’s what we are are looking for these days — easy.

Here are the card cuts you will need to create this card.

  • Lost Lagoon cardstock
    • card base — 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
    • circle mat card front —  4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ for die cutting circle
    • inside circle — 3″ x 3″
    • inside banner — 1″ x 4″
  • Basic White cardstock
    • circle on card front — 4″ x 4″
    • inside panel — 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • embossed piece card front — 3″ x 4″
    • embossed strip inside — 3/4″ x 4″
  • Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper
    • card front lower panel — 3″ x 4″
  • Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper
    • butterflies

Adhere the Basic White embossed piece and the Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Die cut the large circle from Lost Lagoon cardstock using one of the largest dies from Spotlight on Nature Dies.  Die cut the Basic White cardstock circle using the next to largest die from the same set.  Die cut the Lost Lagoon circle for the inside using the 4th largest die.  Die cut the butterflies from a piece of Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper using a butterfly die from Sketched Butterflies Dies.

Adhere the Lost Lagoon circle over the Basic White and Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper on the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies stamp set i Memento Black ink on the Basic White circle.  Pop the Basic White circle over the Lost Lagoon circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Pop the butterflies around the greeting.  Make a bow (I call it a Mary Deatherage bow as she is the person who showed me how to make it) using Crumb Cake Linen Thread.  Adhere to the Basic White circle with a Glue Dot.  Pop three Tinsel Gems from Tinsel Gems Three Pack around the Basic White circle.

Stamp a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Stamp Set in Memento Black ink on a Basic White panel.  Add a Basic White embossed strip, matted on a strip of Lost Lagoon cardstock.  Adhere almost in the center.  Over this strip, adhere the small Lost Lagoon circle die cut earlier.  Adhere a butterfly in the center of the circle.

A Basic White envelope gets a panel of Subtles 6′ x 6″ Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used In Creating This Card

Stampin’ Up! Beach Day

Stampin’ Up! Beach Day

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Stamp Set.  I have had a hard time trying to write instructions for making this card so I will just show you a few pictures, give instructions I hope make sense and give the dimensions of the cardstock and Country Woods Designer Series Paper used in the creation.

The card base is Crumb Cake.  Make two card bases 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, Score at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″. Trim off about 1/16″ from the card base that will be the right side one. Adhere the two card base together, placing one flat piece inside the other. By trimming off just the little smidge, it will make the card close easier.
Card Cuts you will need for this card:

  • Crumb Cake cardstock
    • card base — 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (cut 2) score at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″
    • mats for top & bottom pieces on card front  1-3/4″ x 4-1/2″ (cut 2)
    • mat for art piece — 4″ x 4″
    • sand banks — 1″ x 3-3/4″ (cut 2)
  • Basic White cardstock
    • inside piece — 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • art piece — 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″
    • stamped images — 4″ x 4″
  • Country Woods Designer Series Paper
    • top & bottom pieces card front  — 1-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ (cut 2)
    • side panels inside — 1-7/8″ x 5-1/4″ (cut 2)

This is how the card looks when you begin opening it.  It can look like a square card.

As you can see the surf boards go between the top and bottom piece on the Crumb Cake.  I didn’t place the Country Woods Designer Series Paper piece closer to the top and bottom of the card base so I had to cut the bottom from the surf boards.  I used  Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly, and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends to color the surf boards.

Adhesive is adhered only on the left side of the Crumb Cake mats, so the other end will slide easily behind the art piece when closed.

Challenges I am entering

Hand Stamped  Sentiments Challenge

Krafty Chicks Challenge

The Paper Players Challenge   down the right side

On the  Basic White piece use Blending Brushes and Lemon Lolly, Calypso Coral, and Pool Party ink to create the sky.

On the two pieces of Crumb Cake die cut the sand banks, brush with Crumb Cake ink using a Blending Brush, stamp the seashell image on the sand banks.  The sand banks will be layered at the bottom of the art piece and the beach shack will be adhered over the edge of it.

Stamp in Memento Black ink the beach shack, coloring using Azure Afternoon, Cajun Craze, Peach Pie, Pool Party, and Real Red Stampin’ Blends.

Die cut the grass using a die from Beach Day Dies

Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Stamp Set in Versa Mark on a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock, sprinkle White Embossing Powder and heat set using a heat tool.

Stamp the seagull image in Memento Black ink, die cut and pop on the upper right corner of the card base.

Adhere the art piece to the right side of the card front putting adhesive only in the middle edge of the piece so the card will  slide open and close easy.

You can see how the two Country Woods Designer Series Paper pieces are adhered to either side of the card.

On a panel of Basic White cardstock stamp the sentiments from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day stamp set in Pool Party and Calypso Coral inks.  Using a Blending Brush and Crumb Cake ink, brush some sand at the bottom of the panel.

Stamp in Memento Black ink the chair and umbrella.  Color using Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly, and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.  Adhere the panel to the inside card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used In Creating This Card

Stampin’ Up! Latte Love — Coffee With Friends

Stampin’ Up! Latte Love — Coffee With Friends

The card I am sharing today is created  using A Little Latte Designer Series Paper, Stampin’ Up! Coffee With Friends Stamp Set and Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Stamp Set.  The two stamps sets are used for a greeting and sentiment and to decorate the sentiment panel.

This is a stack, cut, shuffle card, so I ended up with three cards.  I used three different patterns of A Little Latte Designer Series Paper. The three patterns of paper are cut into three pieces, shuffled around so you end up with a panel of paper that has three designs to it. The three pieces are matted on a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock as you can see in the photo above.

Three different coffee cups are fussy cut from A Little Latte Designer Series Paper, arranged over the piece that will be the card front and adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Coffee With Friends Stamp Set is stamped on a piece of Basic White cardstock, die cut using a die from Thoughtful Expression Dies , then popped into one of the coffee cups on the card front.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Coffee With Friends and Country Birdhouse Stamp Sets is stamped on a piece of Basic White cardstock, then die cut using a die from Thoughtful Expressions Dies.  Another piece of Basic White has an image from Stampin’ Up! Coffee With Friends Stamp Set stamped in the corner in Pecan Pie ink and colored using Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, and Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Blends. The piece that is die cut is adhered to the center of this panel.  I realize looking at the photo that I did not get the piece straight when adhered to the larger panel. OH, well!

A Basic White envelope gets a panel of A Little Latte Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

This is a picture of all three cards that is created with the stack, cut, shuffle technique.  Two are created using Early Espresso as the card base with Calypso Coral mats, the other one is created using Pecan Pie cardstock and Lost Lagoon as the mat.

Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse – Faux Step

Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse – Faux Step

Don’t you just love Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Stamp Set and Dies. That is the stamp set I am using for the card I am sharing today.  The card is called a Faux Step card I believe.  I know I have made step card before and there was lots of cutting and scoring.  This one is so easy, I may just have to make a few with different designs.  This is a CAS of Jackie Bolhuis card,

Challenges entered:

Creative Crease Challenge

Tic Tac Toe Challenge   Diagonally right to left, Layers, Flowers, Ink Blends

This is how the card looks from the side.  You can see there is only two piece in creating this card with a bit of scoring and folding. Cut a piece of cardstock, I used the new Basic Beige, 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scoring at 3″, 6″, and 7-1/4″. Cut another piece of the same cardstock 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scoring it at 4-1/4″.  Decorate the little piece, I suppose you could call it a little card, it is later attached to the larger piece to help create the step.

  1. Cut two piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper, one at 2-3/4″ x  5-1/4″ and the other one at 1″ x 5-1/4″.
  2. Adhere these two piece to the large piece of the card base.  You can see in the photo above the place of the two pieces.
  3. From a different pattern of the Designer Series Paper die cut the birdhouse. I wanted my birdhouse to be a little card, so when I die cut, I place the edge of the roof of the birdhouse over the fold line of the Designer Series Paper just a snig so that I would have a fold once it was die cut.
  4. Die cut the roof from a different pattern of the Designer Series Paper and die cut the scallop trim from Basic White cardstock.
  5. Die cut the ledge of the birdhouse from a different pattern of the Designer Series Paper
  6. Die cut the leaves from Garden Green cardstock using dies from Lifetime of Love Dies.
  7. Die cut the little flowers from Pretty In Pink and Petunia Pop cardstock.  Cut three of each.
  8. Adhere the Pretty In Pink flower to the Petunia Pop flower using a dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  9. Die cut the bird from Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Dies.
  10. Color the bird using Balm Blue, Wild Wheat, and Peach Pie Stampin’ Blends.
  11. Cut two piece of Basic White cardstock 3-1/4″ x 4″.  These are for the card front and back.
  12. Emboss one of the 3-1/4″ x 4″ piece using the Timbers 3D Embossing Folder.
  13. Die cut a piece of Basic White and Country Birdhouse Designer Series Paper using the birdhouse die from Country Birdhouse Dies.
  14. Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Stamp Set on the Basic White  birdhouse.
  15. Adhere to the inside of the birdhouse using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  16. Adhere the other birdhouse that is wood grain to the top flap of the birdhouse using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  17. Adhere the embossed piece to the little card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  18. Adhere the birdhouse over the embossed piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  19. Pop the ledge on the birdhouse using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  20. Adhere the bird, vines and flowers on the birdhouse and ledge of the birdhouse using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin Dimensionals.
  21. Pop a Basic Rhinestone Jewel in the center of each little flower.
  22. Stamp a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set in Memento Black ink on the 2nd piece of 3-1/2″ x 4″ cardstock.
  23. Stamp a flower from Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Stamp Set in Memento Black ink.
  24. Color the flowers using Pretty In Pink and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends
  25. Adhere the piece to the back of the little card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  26. Now it’s time to adhere the little card to the main card base.  Put Multipurpose glue on the inside edge of the little card on both edges, but one at a time.  Do not put glue over the whole piece just the edge of the card.
  27. Adhere the front of the little card to the front edge of the step of the main card base. Repeat the same with the bottom of the card, adhere it to the back of the card base. See Photo.
  28. A Basic White envelope get a piece of Country Birdhouse Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used In Creating This Card

Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia — Thinking Of You

Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia — Thinking Of You

The card shared today is another one made using Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia Stamp Set and Dies.  With this stamp set being so versatile, there is no end to the different designs that can created with this stamp set.  Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set and Layering Leaves Stamp Set are also used.

I am entering the following challenges.

Pammie’s Inky Pinkies Challenge

Creative Creases Challenge

Using Designer Series Paper as the card base cuts down on the weight of the card so extra postage hopefully will not be required.

  1. A 5-1/2″ x 11″ piece of Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper is used for the card base.
  2. Score the piece at 2″, 4″, 8″, and 10″.
  3. Turn the piece to the long end. Measure down 2-3/4″ and make a mark. Do this on both side of the 12″ piece.
  4. Place the piece in the track of your paper trimmer, lining up the mark and the first score line.
  5. Cut at an angle from the score line to the mark. If you will click on this link, you can see Lisa Curcio‘s diagram of how to score and cut.  Scroll down the page a bit and you will see the download for the diagram.
  6. Using a flower and leaf stamp from Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia Stamp Set, stamp three zinnias and three leaves in Smoky Slate ink on a piece of Basic White card stock.
  7. Color the zinnias in Melon Mambo, Berry Burst, Daffodil Delight, and  Highland Heather.
  8. Color the leaves using Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, and Old Olive ink.
  9. Die cut using dies from Simply Zinnia Dies.
  10. Die cut a piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper using the next to largest die from Perennial Postage Dies.
  11. Arrange the zinnias and leaves on the Country Woods Designer Series Paper piece, once arranged to your liking, adhered to the piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  12. Create a loopy bow from Linen Thread adhering to the card front using a Glue Dot.
  13. Adhere the finished panel to the left side of the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  14. Stamp a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Stamp Set in Memento Black ink on a panel of Basic White cardstock.  Adhere  the panel to the inside of the card base.
  15. A Basic White envelope gets a piece of Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper  adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself. Feel free to CAS(E) any card. Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me. Have a blessed day!
