Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies – Thinking Of You

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies and Beach Day Stamp Sets.  Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper does all the work with a few little tweeks from a few other stamp set and dies.

The card base is Highland Heather cardstock with a layer of Basic White for the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper panel that has been embossed usign Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.  Multipurpose Liquid Glue is used as the adhesive to adhere the pieces together and adhere to the card base.

A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set is stamped on a Basic White label from my stash, so I do not remember the name.   Basic White sheer ribbon it added behind the label using Glue Dots. The label is then popped on the card front.  Greenery using Magnolia Mood Dies is popped behind the label also.  Basic Pearl Gems are randonly place around the card front.  A small butterfly is die cut using a die from Sketched Butterflies Dies.  It is popped among the folage using a Glue Dot.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Stamp Set is stamped in Memento Black ink on a Basic White cardstock panel.  A strip of Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper left over from the front panel is added at the bottom of the panel along with a leaf sprig from Magnolia Mood Dies.  The panel is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue as the adhesive.

A Basic White envelope get a piece of Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I am finally back to blogging after having a bout with my back and could do nothing.  As the title of a book I once read says, “I Ain’t  Well But I Sure Am Better!”  My husband has been so sweet to help me up and down and even cut the pieces for this card the way I showed him.    His creativity is the one thing that has remained, he never misses a note when he plays music and can still draw whatever I ask. We are blessed.

 

The  card today is a faux step, which is an easy, easy card to create, but it has taken me two days because of my back.  Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Expressions, Layering Leaves, and Beach Day Stamp Set are used in this creation.  Layering Leaves and Beach Day have become my go to sets for greetings and sentiments.  They always seem to fit what I am looking to say to the person I am sending the card.

These are the card cuts for the card.

  • Gorgeous Grape cardstock
    • card base 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 1″, 2″, and 6-1/2″
    • small card for top — 3″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 3″
  • Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper
    • large mat for backgound on step  — 4″ x 4-1/4″
    • step — 3/4″ x 4″
  • Basic White cardstock
    • inside sentiment & back panels  — 4″ x 4-1/4″
    • art piece panel on card front — 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″

Fold on the score lines of the card base to create the step.  Burnish well so the card will stand well.  Fold and burnish the small card for the front.  

Adhere the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper to the background of the step and to the step.  The Designer Series Paper on the step is the reverse side of the main background piece.  Adhere the little card over the card base (see photo) using adhesive of choice.

On the 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp a flower image from Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set in Memento Black ink.  Also, stamp the single flower from the same set in the right corner of both the 4″ x 4-1/4″ Basic White cardstock pieces.

Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Stamp Set about 3/4 down the Basic White piece leaving room for the flowers to be stamped. (see photo)

Color the flowers using Bubble Bath, Highland Heather, and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  Die cut the images using dies from Thoughtful Expressions Dies.  Place the cluster of flowers at the top of the Basic White piece so you can tell where to stamp the little flowers from Cherrful Daisies Stamp Set in Bubble Bath ink for the flowers and Old Olive ink for the leaves.  

After stamping the flowers and leaves place the cluster of flowers in the middle using Stampin’ Dimensionals for adhesive.

Stamp a sentiment in Memento Black ink using a stamp from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Stamp Set.

To cover the portion of the front panel that is adhered to the card back, adhere a piece of Basic White cardstock that has a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Stamp Set stamped in Memento Black ink.  Adhere to the card back using adhesive of your choice.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Magnolia Mood Easel Card

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Magnolia Mood Stamp Set & Dies along with Stampin’ Up! Unbounded Love Stamp Set. I also used Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder  and Pearl Basic Gems.

Card Cuts For This Card

  • Basic White cardstock
    • card base — 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″
    • label card front — 1-1/2″ 4-1/8″
  • Melon Mambo cardstock
    • embossed panel card front — 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper
    • inside panel — 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • envelope flap — 2-1/4″ x 6″
  •  Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper
  • mat back of card — 2-3/4″ x 4″

As I colored the magnolias using Watercolor pencils in Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green, I first stamped the images using Stazon Black ink. Stazon is what you want to use when doing watercoloring.  I decided to just use the pencils and not add the water.  Maybe I should have because my magnolias have little color to them.  The Melon Mambo comes out so pale it is hard to tell there is any color on the magnolias.  This is a semi CAS of one I saw on Pinterest but I saw no name.  I did add embossing and frayed edges for the Melon Mambo panel.

The Melon Mambo embossed panel is adhered to the easel of the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Stamp Set is stamped in Night Of Navy ink on a Basic White banner.  The banner is adhered across the card front and one of the magnolias is added above and the other below the banner.  Additional leaves are popped around both magnolias.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Unbounded Love Stamp Set is stamped on a strip of Basic White cardstock in Night of Navy ink.  The word You is die cut using a long, long retired die set from Stampin’ Up!  If you have the alphabet dies, then it will be easy to die cut the word.  The sentiment piece has a strip of Melon Mambo adhered to each side.  A piece of Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper is adhered to the inside card base and the sentiment is adhered over the panel.  The magnolia bud is colored using Granny Apple Green, Crush Curry, and Melon Mambo Watercolor Pencils.

The card I am sharing today is created using Splendid Autumn 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, along with Stampin’ Up! Coffee With Friends Stamp Set and Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Stamps Set.  Leaves are die cut using Dies from Changing Leaves Dies and Autumn Leaves Dies.

The card base is Basic White cardstock with a piece of the same embossed using the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder.  This embossed piece is adhered down the middle of the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Leaves are die cut from different patterns of Splendid Autumn 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. A label is die cut using a die from Thoughtful Expression Dies.  A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Coffee With Friends Stamp Set is stamped on the label using Early Espresso ink. Stampin’ Dimensionals are popped in the  middle of the greeting label and it is popped on the middle of the card front.  Stampin’ Dimensionals are placed in the middle so the leaves can be tucked unde the label.  The leaves are now arranged around the label and secured using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Birds from Adhesive Backed Dragonfly and Birds are popped on the card front. Daffodil Delight Gems from Glossy Dot Assortment is also popped around the card front.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Stamp Set is stamped in Early Espresso ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Leaves are popped in the lower corner of the panel and the panel is adhered to the Basic White card base.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper does most of the work in the card I am sharing today.  I did use Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Stamp Set and Stampin’ Up! Coffee With Friends Stamp Set for the greeting and sentiment.  I also use the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.

This is an easel fun fold.  The card base is Basic White cardstock with a piece of Garden Green cardstock embossed using Timber 3D Embossing Folder.

Card Cuts For This Card

  • Basic White cardstock
    • card base — 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″
    • mat Night of Navy piece card front — 1-1/2″ x 5-1/8″
    • label card front — 2-3/4″ 4-1/8″
  • Garden Green cardstock
    • embossed panel card front — 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • inside panel — 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper
    • strip down left side — 1-1/4″ x 5″
    • oraanges fussy cut from panel of Designer Series Paper

Easel cards are the easiest of all to create.  You can see from the photo above how the card is folded.  The easiness of the card creation is because there is only two pieces of card stock for the card base. The main part that creates the easel is two folds and another piece of card stock is added as you can see that creates the card front with all the elements necessary to decorate the card, with this one the Designer Series Paper does most of the creating.

A panel of Garden Green is embossed using Timber 3D Embossing Folder, then adhered to the inside card base.  Fussy cut oranges are adhered at the top left and along the bottom of the panel.  A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Stamp Set  is stamped in Night of Navy ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock, trimmed and popped on the Garden Green layer.  This creates the stopper for the easel. 

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
