Stampin with Shirley G

I tried a new technique for me, I wanted to see how it looked and how it would turn out. I ended up being pleased with the results. I drew inspiration for today’s card from the Global Design Project .  I also found inspiration from WWC177-Charlotte’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge.

The card base is Fresh Fig.  I have double matted using Mint Macaron and Grapefruit Grove. For the art piece I cut a piece of watercolor paper 3 x 3-3/4.  I use a stamping block ( you can see it in the picture above). I pressed it lightly on the Mint Macaron stamp pad and then stamped on the watercolor paper.  I stamped, then stamped again without re-inking. The lines on the stamping block gave even more dimension to the piece.  

I then stamp using Memento Black Ink and the Love What You Do Stamp Set to stamp the flowers on the Mint Macaron piece.  I colored the flowers using Grapefruit Grove Stampin Pad and a Blender Pen.The flowers appear to have tiny dots all through them and this is from stamping on the Mint Macaron background. I wrapped three strands of the Nature’s Twine around the card and tied a knot.

I did not put a sentiment inside, just stamped the flowers from the Love What You Do Stamp Set and colored. I left it blank except the flowers so a note could be written.

I am playing with two challenges today.  Color Throwdown ctd500 and  Freshly Made Sketches

Whisper White card base with a Whisper White mat.  Two corners are matted with a panel of the Garden Impressions DSP.

The art piece is stamped using the Delightful Daisy Stamp Set between the two  corners that are matted with the Garden Impression DSP. I stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored using So Saffron and Blushing Bride Stampin Inks and a Blender Pen.

The greeting on the front is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (retired).

I also matted the corners of the inside panel with the Garden Impressions DSP. The sentiment is from Verve, I believe.

I received this stamp set at OnStage Atlanta and have used it barely, so thought I should start making good use of it since it is such a cute stamp set. I have seen so many cute cards made with this set.

I decided to play with the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge Card Maker’s Choice.

Here is the card recipe.

Berry Burst – Card base  5-1/4 x 8-1/2. Scored at 4-1/4.

Garden Green- Mat embossed with Layered Leaves TIEF. Mat cut 4 x 5-1/4

Animal Expedition DSP – 2-1/4 x 3-3/4 strip. Popped on the top of the Garden Green Mat.

 1-1/4 x 4 strip for the inside sentiment panel.

Smokey Gray – Rhino stamped using Memento Black Ink and fussy cut as the dies for this stamp set are on back-order.  I popped him on a bed of Linen and Copper Metal Thread that I had wrapped around my hand a few times.

Circle Layering Framelits- Two sizes used for the greeting on the front. Whisper White and Berry Burst.

Garden Green Ink – Used for stamping the green on the Whisper White circle.
