Dashing Deer Grazing in Lovely Trees

Welcome to my Monday post, most people find Monday’s blah and wish they didn’t have to get up from bed on Monday’s. Why has that happened to Monday’s. Monday’s can be considered a new beginning. You have heard this saying, I am sure. “This is the first day of the rest of your life.” Look at Monday as a new beginning!

My two little deer are in the meadow as snowflakes swirl all around, one is grazing and the buck is on look-out but I believe in real life, it is the other way around the doe will venture out into the meadow and the buck stays at the edge of the woods. He finally venture out. For today, he wants to be the protector!

My card for today is from the Dashing Deer stamp set and Lovely As A Tree stamp set and the Joyous Noel DSP. I made so many card using these two products and each one is different. The design my be a bit the same but it’s almost like doing a One Sheet Wonder.

My inspiration is from the TGIF Challenges 178

The base is Tranquil Tide cut 4-1/4” x 11” and scored at 5-1/2”. The mat is Sahara Sand cut 4” x 5-1/4” The Snowflake panel is cut 3-3/4” x 5”. The window cut in this panel is from a retired Stampin Up Die. You can use any die of your choice to make this window.

The art panel is cut the same size as the Snowflake panel and stamp using the Lovely As A Tree stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink. The Snowflake panel is adhered over the art panel using Liquid Glue, then popped onto the Sahara Sand panel.

The two deer are stamped in Sahara Sand in on a scrap of Sahara Sand card stock, then stamped again with Versa Mark and heat embossed using Clear Embossing Powder. These are popped on using Mimi Stamping Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is stamped using Tranquil Tide ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock that has been cut using the retired Label Collection Framelits. The decorative part of the sentiment piece is the negative pieces that are left when cutting out the window for the front.

Triangles of Life

Today can be called a day of Joy and Sadness. It is one of my grandson’s 21^st birthday but also the day my Mother decided to go see Jesus. Sad, also, because I am not getting to join in all the fun with Mary and Amy and all the Krew on the retreat. So, I want to focus on the happiness of my grandson’s birthday, so I won’t be sad on this day.

My card is created using the Touches of Texture stamp set. A simple, yet sweet card. The flowers in this set are great for making thank you notes and thinking of you cards.

The inspiration for the card comes from Color Throwdown #511.

The card is a one layer, other than the art piece. The card base is Thick Whisper White cut 4-1/4 x 11 and scored at 5-1/2.

Two triangles were made by using two of the Layering Square Framelits and cutting from Pear Pizzazz and Melon Mambo. Melon Mambo is closest to a berry color that I have. It can be a strawberry.

The art piece is stamped in Memento Black Ink on the square of cardstock that was adhered with Liquid Glue to the Melon Mambo triangle. I suppose the flowers could have been stamped directly onto the card stock base and then attached the triangles over it. Probably would have been the easiest, but why take the easy way – right?

The flowers are colored using Stampin Write Markers in Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Petal Pink (with 2 layers it looks like peach). The bit of bling is from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

The inside sentiment is blank with just a faint shadow of the flowers stamped in the center.
