Stampin’ Up! Frosted Forest

Stampin’ Up! Frosted Forest

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Frosted Forest Stamp Set and Die.  This set got lost on my shelf and I have not used it very much, but it is such a versatile stamp set, good for birthdays for anyone and will make a lovely Christmas card.  Today I am using it as a birthday card.  This card is a Fun Fold Side Step card. I have made this card design many times but for some reason, I kept putting the pieces in the incorrect order.  I persevered and here it is finished.

Challenge for this card: Creative Crease Fun Fold Challenge

Cardstock Cuts for this Project:

Basic White Cardstock

  • card base — 5 1/2″ x 8″ scored and folded at 3″, 6″ and 7″
  • side-step base — 3″ x 6″ scored and folded at 4 1/4″
  • inside panel – 2-7/8” x 5 -1/4”
  • stamped trees and die-cut trees – 4-1/2” x 5-1/2”

Lost Lagoon Cardstock

  • mat for front – 2-7/8″ x 5-3/8″
  • small front panel at the bottom of the card – 7/8″ x 5-3/8″
  • mat for front of side-step panel – 2-7/8″ x 4-1/8″

Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper

  • front of main card base – 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″
  • smallest front panel at the bottom of the card – 3/4″ x 5 -1/4″
  • front of side-step panel — 2- 3/4″ x 4″

This is a picture of the card cuts for each piece needed to create the card.  If you only want the design, substitute your cardstock color and designer series paper for the ones used here.

This is a diagram of where to score and fold the two pieces that create the step card.

I used Liquid Glue for all the pieces but used dimensional to adhere the large tree to the left side of the tree and Glue Dots for the small tree on the right side.

  1.  Score and fold the two pieces of Basic White cardstock.  The 3″ x 6″ piece will be your sidestep.
  2. Adhere the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper measuring 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ to the Lost Lagoon mat measuring 2-7/8″ x 5-3/8″ using the adhesive of choice.
  3. Adhere the above piece to the main card base you can see the photo above.
  4. Adhere the Nest Of Winter Designer Series Paper measuring  2-3/4″ x 4″ to the 2-7/8″ x 4-1/8″  piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock using the adhesive of choice.
  5. Using the adhesive of choice, adhere the matted piece to the front side – step. The step is the one with the large tree.
  6.  Stamp your greeting on the piece measuring 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ of Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper then adhere to the Lost Lagoon piece measuring 7/8″ x 5-3/8″ using the adhesive of choice.
  7.  Stamp in Shaded Spruce ink a tree from Stampin’ Up! Frosted Forest Stamp Set on a piece of Basic White cardstock.
  8. Using the mask that comes with the stamp set use Lost Lagoon and Old Olive ink and a Blending Brush to finish coloring the tree.
  9. Die cut from a piece of  Nest Of Winter Designer Series Paper a small tree.  Also, die cut three more from Basic White cardstock.
  10. Adhere all the small trees together using the adhesive of choice.  I used Adhesive Sheets since the trees were so intricate.
  11. Using the adhesive of choice on the bottom 1″ of the side-step piece, adhere it to the narrow bottom strip that is 1″.  Be sure to align with the bottom of the card base.
  12.  Close the card base and using the adhesive of choice adhere the smaller portion of the panel which is below the score line to the back of the main card base, this will create the side-step panel.
  13. Adhere the large tree to the left side of the card which is the step panel using the adhesive of choice.
  14. Adhere the die-cut tree to the right side of the card front using Glue Dots.  I rolled them really small so I could get them on the tiny spots of the tree.
  15. Adhere the greeting strip across the bottom of the card base.  See picture.
  16.   Stamp a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Frosted Forest in Memento Black ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock.
  17. Stamp a tree from the same stamp set in Shaded Spruce ink in the lower right corner.
  18. Drag the Lost Lagoon stamp pad around the edges of the Basic White panel.
  19. Add gems from Tinsel Three Pack and Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels around the card front

Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Hexagon, Layering Leaves, Sketched Butterflies, Sweetly Scripted

The card I am sharing today is similar to one I created in July.  I like this design and decided to use the design to create an anniversary card for a friend.  I used several Stampin’ Up! stamp sets in creating this card.  I used Heartfelt Hexagon, Layering Leaves, Sketched Butterflies, and Sweetly Scripted Stamp Sets.  I also used Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder, which will be retiring soon.

These are the card cuts

  • Basic White cardstock
    • card base —  5-1/2′ x 8-1/2″  scored at 4-1/4″
    • inside layer — 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • long mat on card front — 2-1/2′ x 4-1/2″
    • mat for left square on card front — 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
    • greeting — 2′ x 2″
    • butterflies — 1-3/4″ x 4″
  • Night of Navy cardstock
    • background panel card front  — 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • greeting mat — 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″
    • inside panel  — 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Country Woods Designer Series Paper
    • background piece behind two squares — 2-1/4″ x 4-1/4″
    • left square — 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
    • envelope flap — 2-1/4″ x 6″

Emboss the Night of Navy panel using Painted Texture  3D Embossing Folder.  After embossing drag the Whisper White Craft ink pad across the embossing to give more texture to the piece.  Adhere the panel to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Die cut butterflies from Sketched Butterflies Dies from Basic White cardstock. Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves on the 2″ square in Night of Navy ink.  Stamp butterflies from Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies stamp set in the Night of Navy ink also.  Adhered the greeting piece to the Night of Navy mat.

Adhere the wide strip piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper to the Basic White mat using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Adhere the long piece of Pool Party Country Woods Designer Series Paper to the Basic White mat using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Adhere the piece over the Night of Navy background panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Adhere the larger of the two squares with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the greeting square gets Stampin’ Dimensionals then pop it over the edge of the larger square.  Pop the butterflies on the card front using pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals.   Pop glossy dots from the Glossy Dot Assortment on two of the butterflies and one on the greeting.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set is stamped in Pool Party ink on a Basic White panel.  A border from the same stamp set is stamped in Night of Navy ink.  The happy anniversary sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! Sweetly Scripted Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy ink.  The panel is then adhered to a Night of Navy mat and then to the Basic White card base.

A Basic White envelope gets a panel of Country Woods Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
