Stampin’ Up! Friends For Life

Stampin’ Up! Friends For Life

The card I am sharing today is a very easy one to create, yet it turns out beautiful cards.  This will create two cards at the same time.  I used Stampin’ Up! Friends For Life Stamp Set and Dies.  I love the way the word FRIEND turned out.

I am entering  NBUS Challenge as this is a new stamp set for me.

I started with a Pecan Pie cardstock card base.   Cut two coordinating different patterns of Designer Series Paper 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″.   I used Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Paper.   It made for a real nice card.   Place the two pieces of Designer Series Paper one on top of the other and be sure to keep edges together when you place them in the paper trimmer.

Make a mark with a pencil at the top of your paper a little off center at maybe 1-3/4″ – 2″.   Turn to the long side and make a mark at 2-1/2″ – 2-3/4″.  Line these two marks up in the paper trimmer, you will be making a diagonal cut.  Once you have made the cut,  take the cut piece and place a piece from each pattern so you have two card focal panels. I also cut a piece of Basic White cardstock  3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ to adhere the two pieces of the Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Paper on.  Cut a mat, 4″ x 5-1/4″, I used Basic White cardstock.

Adhere the Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Paper after it has been adhered to the 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ of Basic White cardstock to the Basic White mat.  I wrapped two lengths of Faux Leather Trimer around the piece adhering in the back of the panel with tape.  I scrunched up a Glue Dot long ways and placed under the trim on the card front to keep it in place.  I placed Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the panel and popped on the Pecan Pie card base.

I stamped a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Friends for Life Stamp Set in Memento Black ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  I trimmed the greeting using the paper trimmer, dipped the edges of the greeting piece in Pecan Pie ink, then popped on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I stamped in Memento Black in on a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock, the word friend from Stampin’ Up! Friends For Life Stamp Set, then die cut using a die from Friends For Life Dies.

Neutral Adhesive Back Sequins are popped around the card front.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Stamp Set is stamped in Memento Black ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. An image from Stampin’ Up! Lovely & Sweet Stamp Set is stamped in Memento Black ink in the corner of the panel and colored using a Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I am happy you stop  by today.  I hope you take the time to linger and look at my other blog posts and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. My hope and wish are that you wilbe inspired to create amazing creations yourself. Feel free to CAS(E) any card. Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me. Have a blessed day!

Stampin’ Up! Products Used In Creating This Card

 Card Cuts

  • Pecan Pie cardstock
    • card base — 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
  • Basic White cardstock
    • mat card front — 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • piece to adhere Designer Series Paper — 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
    • inside panel — 4″ x 5-1/4″

Stampin’ Up! Cheerful Daisies Thinking Of You

Stampin’ Up! Cheerful Daisies Thinking Of You

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set & Dies, Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Stamp Set, Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Designs Stamp Set, and Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.

Card Cuts

  • Basic White cardstock
    • card base 4-1/4″ x 11″ score at 5-1/2″
    • inside panel — 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • pop out mechanism — 1″ x 5″, score at 1-1/4″, 2-1/2″, 3-3/4″
  • Lovely Lavender card base from Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin
    • embossed layer for  card front — 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
  • Highland Heather cardstock
    • flowers — 4″ x 5-1/2″
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock
    • leaves — scrap
  • Gorgeous Grape cardstock
    • flowers shadow mat 4″ x 5-1/2″

Place the 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Lovely Lavender on the card front.  To keep the two pieces together place a small piece of Washi tape on the edge.  Measure down 1″ and place your die. This is just a diagram I created to show how to die cut the opening.   Keep the card open, you do not want to accidently cut through both pieces of your card.   See the card for the Lovely Lavender  paper. After die cutting the opening, emboss the panel using Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder, then adhere to the card front. Be sure to emboss the side that faces up when you take the panel from the card base after die cutting so the two pieces will fit together again.  If you emboss the other side they will not fit.

Cut the pop out mechanism 1″ x 5″ scoring at 1-1/4″, 2-1/2″, and 3-3/4″.  The second photo shows how the pop out will look once folded. Now add the Pop Out Mechanism inside of the card by adding adhesive to one end first,  (see photo,) it adhered right at the score line of the card base, then fold the mechanism in half and adhere adhesive to the area marked on the card front, then close card front (note your mechanism  will be hanging down into the window)

This is the way the Pop Out Mechanism works once it is attached.  The greeting label will adhere to the Pop Out.

Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves stamp set on the cut out label, then adhere to the Pop Out Mechanism.

Using dies from Wildflowers Designs Dies die cut these two pieces from Gorgeous Grape cardstock. This is just my sample. You can see the photo of the actual card above.

The photos will show how each frame is adhered to the card front around the greeting even though the greeting label does not show in this photo.  You can see it in the photo of the card.

You can see I adhered another panel of Basic White with a sentiment and flowers before adhering the Pop Out Mechanism.  This is how the Pop Out looks flat.

I used a piece of the inside of  an envelope from the Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin to go on the envelope flap.  Don’t ask me why I didn’t just use the envelope, it just now dawned on me, that is what I should have done.

I am happy you stop  by today.  I hope you take the time to linger and look at my other blog posts and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. Stampin’ Up! July Paper Pumpkin Painted Petals

Stampin’ Up! July Paper Pumpkin Painted Petals

This is my verison of the July Paper Pumpkin.  I started to make them the way it shows in the instructions, but just had to tweek them a bit with mats and bows.

These are the three cards using the Melon Mambo flowers.  There are two different sentiments and design for the inside of these cards.  I have only included one design of each.  There are three different greetings on the card fronts and I gave each card a mat using the back side of the original card that come in the Paper Pumpkin.  I cut the inside out of the mat using a Deckled Rectangle Die and you can see I used one as the inside for the sentiment.    The flower image that is in the stamp set that come with the Paper Pumpkin is stamped on one of the inside panels and colored using Melon Mambo and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  The other is stamped on a piece of Basic White cardstock, colored using Bubble Bath, Pretty In Pink, and Old Olive ink.   It is fussy cut, then adhered to the corner of the Melon Mambo panel on the inside panel. Sequins were scattered around the card fronts.

I am showing only two of the Daisy cards as two are the same.  I added the green mat again using the back side of the original card.   Two different greetings are used on the card fronts.  The greetings are stamped on the labels that come with the Paper Pumpkin. A loopy bow is added to one and a small Old Olive bow is added to the other.  The inside sentiment has a daisy from Stampin’ Up! Cheerful Daisies stamped in Memento Black ink and colored using Old Olive, Lemon Lolly, and Pumpkin Pie inks.  The greeting is the same for all three cards.  Sequins are popped around the card front.

Again, I am only showing two of the Calypso Coral cards as the other one would be a duplicate.  The inside sentiment panels for all the cards have been die cut using a die from Deckled Rectangle Dies.  The edges are brushed with a sponge dauber and either, Old Olive, Melon Mambo, or Calypso Coral ink.  Splatters are made using a Stampin’ Blends in the color of the card flowers so all three card designs have all three colors on the sentiment panel.

Simply Zinnia — Sending Flowers

Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia — Sending Flowers

Well! here it is again, the weekend, do you have fun plans ahead or just a relaxing few days after working all week.  This isn’t the weekend for some of our hospital staffers, other first responders, and our military.  Some of them are always on alert for our benefit.  Thank them each chance you get.

Once again, I am using Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia Stamp Set and Dies to create a card that I am sharing with you today.

I am entering this card in Tic, Tac, Toe Challenge.   I choose the middle row — die cuts, free, sentiment.

These are card cuts needed for making the card.

  • Basic Beige cardstock
    • card base – 4-1/4” x 9” scored on the 9” side at 1-1/4”, 2-1/2”, and 5-3/4”
    • center step – 1-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 5-1/2”
  • Country Woods Designer Series Paper
    • bottom step – 1” x 4”
    • bigger step – 3” x 4”
    • center panel – 2-1/4” x 5-1/4”
    • back of card — 3” x 4”
  • Add the 1” x 4” piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper to the card base with the adhesive of choice. ( I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue)
  • Adhere the 3” x4” piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper to the card base with the adhesive of choice.
  • Adhere the 2 ¼” x 5 ¼” Country Woods Designer Series Paper to the center step card with adhesive of choice.
  • Add adhesive of choice to each end of the center step card on the back.
  • Add the Center Step card to the card base by lining up the taller section on the front edge of the card base.  Fold the center step card and adhere to the back of the card base, making sure you are adhering only the edge of the card to the back of the card base.
  • Die cut the zinnia from the following cardstocks: Petal Pink for the petals, Lemon Lolly for the star center, a Pecan Pie for the center, Garden Green for the zinnia’s stem.
  • Stamp leaves in Memento Black ink, coloring using Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.
  • Die cut the little flowers that are on the front step and behind the step from the following cardstock: Petal Pink, Old Olive, Shaded Spruce, and Berry Burst.
  • Adhere all the zinnias to the card front, behind the step, and on the front step.
  • Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia stamp set in Memento Black ink. Fussy cut the greeting
  • Adhere the greeting across the front step over the flower stems.
  • Add bling of your choice.
  • Fussy cut a zinnia from Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper.
  • Stamp a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day stamp set in Memento Black ink on a piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper.
  • Adhere the piece to the back of the card.
  • Add the zinnia that you fussy cut earlier to the top of the center panel. (see photo)
  • Adhere a piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper to the flap of a Basic White envelope.

An easy way to make a Center Step Card, don’t you think?  I’ve made it the other way many times but this is much easier, no cutting, just a few score lines.

I am happy you stop  by today.  I hope you take the time to linger and look at my other blog posts and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. From the photo above you can see how to assemble the card together.  The butterflies are from Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies stamp set and dies, both the ones stamped on the greeting and the die cut ones.  Sequins from Adhesive Backed Sequins and gems from Tinsel Gems Three Pack are scattered around the card front.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day stamp set is stamped in Memento Black ink on a panel of Basic White cardstock.  Butterflies have been die cut from a piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper and popped around the sentiment.  The Basic White panel is then matted on another piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper and adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Adhere a 2-1/4′ x 6″ piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper to a Basic White envelope flap using Multipurpose Glue.

  • Ready to Join our team?  Click HERE  for more information. One of the perks of being a demonstrator is that you get to pre-order before a new catalog  launches so you are able to show your customers what they can look forward to having when the new catalog comes out.  You will also be getting at least a 20% discount on purchases. If you love card making as a hobby, you can still be a demonstrator and get that discount to help get more card making items,  or you can be like I was and buy Stampin’ Up! products for 10 years before I became wise enough to become a demonstrator to get the discount.  When I think of all the stamping products that 20% would have brought over those 10 years, I cringe.
