” x 3-7/8″. Adhere to Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue.

Is there a rush on at your home with Christmas being tomorrow ? I was at the grocery store yesterday and kept hearing comments of how tired I am. People rush and hurry getting everything to perfection or so they think, only to end up so tired they can not enjoy the day when it arrives. Even when I was a little girl, I can remember my grandmother and aunt hurrying about sewing dresses, crocheting scarves and most of all baking. I can remember my grandmother and aunt baking at least 20 cakes each, and to think they were all eaten during the Christmas festivities. People were always dropping in to visit and it was cake and coffee for everyone. Can you imagine baking 20 cakes in just a few days before Christmas. I can remember they were always moist and delicious. Another aunt, made a chocolate cake with black walnuts that is the most delicious cake you will ever eat. I think it must have been a tradition in the community to see who could bake the most cakes so they could tell it on Sunday at church.

The flowers are a two step process and from the stamp set Incredible Like You (available January 3), This technique is something I have never tried before. It took me practice and three tries before I finally was able to think this piece was acceptable. As always practice makes perfect, so I must try it again to see the results. You stamp the darkest color first or that is the way I did it and then you stamp the lightest color, stamping off once to make the color lighter. The color is Lovely Lipstick, but to me it looks more like Cherry Cobbler. The art piece is now adhered to the Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue and a length of Pear Pizzazz 3/8″ ribbon is wrapped around the art piece. This is now adhered to the embossed panel using Liquid Glue.
The greeting is stamped in Lovely Lipstick on a scrap of Whisper White, then cropped using the Layering Oval Framelits Dies. It is popped over the ribbon in the lower right corner of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A tiny butterfly is cut using one of the butterflies from the Butterfly Gala stamp set (available January 3). A pearl from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearl pack is glued to the butterfly. A Glue Dot is used to adhere to the card front. Three pearls from the same pack are adhered to the upper right corner.
