Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Baubles

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Baubles

WELCOME!

I sort of challenged myself today with this card.  I wanted the Beautiful Baubles to fit inside my 2-1/8” circle and if you have seen the stamp set, you know that just by stamping the stamp that will not be possible—so—I stamped and reduced the size about 3 times before I got the size I wanted for the circle, but it made the baubles almost too small to color— that in itself was a challenge — getting the tiny  ones colored.  I managed.  Not as neat as I would like but done.

My design today comes from the TGIF Challenge #177 Sketch.

The card base is Whisper White. Next is a Garden Green mat that has been popped on but that was the last step, popping the Garden green mat on.  Everything was built on the mat and then it was popped on.  There is a red mat from the All is Bright DSP Collection.  The decorative white pieces on the end of the All is Bright DSP is from the Petals and More Thinlits.

A 1-1/4 inch strip was cut from the Festive Farmhouse DSP.  It was bannerized (that word comes from Mary Deatherage) on both ends and adhered to the All is Bright DSP mat and extending beyond the Petals and More Thinlits.

The mat for the art piece is a 2-5/8” scalloped circle.  The art piece was colored using Watercolor Pencils, sharpened very sharp, so as to color the tiny baubles.  A layer of Wink of Stella was put over each bauble, but it may not show up too great in the pictures.

The inside sentiment is from the Star of Light stamp set. The sentiment is stamped using Memento Black Ink on a panel of Whisper White that has been matted with a Garden Green mat.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope  you found encouragement, inspiration for your creations and an overall great feeling in your spirit.  Have a blessed day!

Stampin’ Up! Basket of Wishes

Stampin’ Up! Basket of Wishes

First things first!  I goofed yesterday in my posting, I said my sentiment was from the Dashing Deer stamp set (I need to quit posting at 3am).  It was from the You’re Inspiring stamp set.  Have to learn to keep my sleepy eyes open and alert at that time of morning so this won’t happen.   I do not know how many of you caught the error, but it happened.  I woke up about 6am with the thought “Oh, No what did I do, realizing my error too, too late.

My inspiration for this card comes from Creative With Stamps Challenge #30 Pumpkins. What a fun challenge. Pumpkins always give the impression of sweet smells and sweet tasting goodies like pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread to go with our tea.

My card for today is from the Basket of Wishes stamp set and Colorful Seasons and a leaf from an old Paper Pumpkin.  I had watched a video on the internet using this technique and I wanted to give it a try.

I started with a panel of Whisper White Thick cardstock cut 3-3/4” x 4-3/4”.  The 2-5/8” and the 3” Layering Circle Framelits were used to emboss the circle on my art piece.  Not having a silicone mat to  use for the embossing, I folded 4 sheets of paper and put over the Framelits so they would emboss and not cut.  Tape the circles together on the back side and again when you lay them on the cardstock.  I used Washi Tape.

After I had my embossing done, I took a piece of the plastic that comes with photopolymer stamps and used it to do my placement around the circle.  You lay the plastic sheet ( you could probably use a window sheet cut to size) over the circle and that way you can see exactly where to place your stamps around the circle.  I also used the Stamparatus which made it much easier. Once your stamps are laid out around the circle close the Stamparatus so it will stick to the stamps.  If the plastic sheet comes up, just peal it off and your stamps are in the spot they should be on the Stamparatus.  Apply ink to the stamps, close the Stamparatus and you have perfect stamping.  Do same procedure all the way around your circle.  Clean your stamps each time.

I stamped the leaves in different colors using Stampin Write Markers and a Mossy Meadow Ink Spot. I then colored the leaves using my Stampin Blends in these colors. Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive,  Grapefruit Grove and the Color Lifter. I used Pear Pizzazz and Pumpkin Pie in the Stampin Write Markers as I do not have the Pumpkin Pie Blender Pen and there is not one for Pear Pizzazz.  Pear Pizzazz and Pumpkin Pie Stampin Write Markers were used to make the dots that fill in the white spaces.

I cut two mats for the art piece, one in Pumpkin Pie and the other in Pear Pizzazz.  The card base is also Pear Pizzazz.  I stamped the greeting from the Basket of Wishes in Pear Pizzazz ink and put through the Big Shot using one of the dies from the Petal and More Thinlits.

The inside sentiment is from Basket of Wishes and is stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink. The pumpkins from the Basket of Wishes stamp set were also stamped on the sentiment panel.

Card cuts and Products used are at the end of this post.

Just A Note To Say

Just A Note To Say

My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches 354 Challenge for the week.

I  started with a card base of Shaded Spruce, cut 4-1/4 x 11 and scored at 5-1/2.

  • A mat from Early Expresso was cut 4 x 5-1/4. This is the mat for the art piece.
  • The art piece is from Whisper White Thick Cardstock.
  • The trees are stamped in Shaded Spruce on the Whisper White. When I mask I find it easier (hint from Jennifer McGuire) to use a piece of transparent plastic (you can use one your stamps are stuck to).  Here is Jennifer’s 9 minute video on how to mask. Watching is easier than me trying to put on paper how to mask.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7cEfNLBhuc
  • After stamping the trees, the Whisper White art piece it is embossed using the Subtle Embossing Folder.
  • The deer is stamped on a scrap of Crumb Cake card stock using Early Expresso ink and the Dashing Deer stamp set and then Versa Mark  stamped over the Early Express then Clear Embossing powder sprinkled over the Versa Mark and heat embossed.  The deer was cut using the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies.
  • The greeting is from the Postcard Pals stamp set stamped in Shaded Spruce.
  • The art piece is adhered to the Early Expresso mat using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then popped onto the Shaded Spruce card base.
  • The inside sentiment panel is matted in Early Expresso card stock. The sentiment is from the Dashing Deer stamp set.  The sentiment panel also has a deer for the corner.

I hope  you found inspiration, hope and encouragement that you can use in your own card making or crafts.  I am happy to share what I create with you.  Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin’ Up! Share What You Love, Tin Tile etc.

Hope everyone in the path of the hurricane stays safe.  Maybe it won’t be as bad as it seems.  Maybe it will be down-graded before it hits the coast.  There’s lots of rain already but the full fury of the hurricane has not hit yet. Stay Safe everyone!

Today I am playing with the Paper Players

My card today uses the Around the Corner stamp set and the Postcard Pals stamp and paper from the Share What You Love DSP, plus Crumb Cake for the card base and Blackberry Bliss that has been embossed using the Tin Tile DIEF.  Mint Macaron is  used for the third layer of my faux flower with Happy Birthday stamped on it.  The layers of my faux flower are embossed using the Subtle Embossing folder.  The little flower is stamped using the Around the Corner stamp set.

Ribbon is the Polka Dot Tulle  and the pearls are the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

I used Stampin Dimensionals to pop the Blackberry Bliss mat and the faux flower.  The Share What You Love DSP is adhered to the Blackberry Bliss mat using Liquid Glue.

The inside sentiment is matted with Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron card stock.  The sentiment is stamped in Blackberry Bliss on a panel of Whisper White.  a strip of the Share What You Love DSP was cut 1/2″ and adhered down the left side.

I hope  you found inspiration, hope and encouragement that you can use in your own card making or crafts.  I am happy to share what I create with you.  Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin Up! Dashing Deer

Stampin Up! Dashing Deer

I received this new stamp set and you know that with something you just have to play with it.  This was a gift from my upline, upline.  She is a kind, generous person.

I will be entering these in two challenges.  The Cupcake Inspiration Challenge 453 and the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge

The card base is Shaded Spruce card stock with embossing using the Pine Planks Embossing folder.   I cut a 3-7/8” x 4-1/2” panel from Cherry Cobbler card stock and embossed using the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

A 3-1/4” x 3-1/4” square from the All is Bright DSP was used to cut the deer using the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies which is part of the bundle called Dashing Deer. You can save 10% buying this as a bundle instead of individually.  The negative portion of the cut was adhered to the Cherry Cobbler panel embossed with the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The three red flowers were cut from Cherry Cobbler using the three thinlits dies from the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies. They were popped on the All is Bright DSP using Mini Stampin Dimensionals cut in fourths.

The gold strip separating the All is Bright DSP and the embossed Cherry Cobbler panel is a scrap from the Timeless Tiding Project Kit as is the edging on the embossed Cherry Cobbler panel.   The “Merry” is cut using the Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies.  The pearls are from the Share What You Love Artisan  Pearls.

The inside sentiment from the Dashing Deer Stamp Set  is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on a panel of Whisper White and matted with Cherry Cobbler card stock.
