Celebrate Autumn

Celebrate Autumn

This is a cute little simple card  that lets you know fall is on the way!

My inspiration for the design of this card comes from the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge this week.

The card base is Whisper White cardstock cut at 4-1/4 x 11 and scored at 5-1/2

I cut 4 squares using Blackberry Bliss cards and the Layer Square Framelit Dies.  On scraps from the paper from the Tea Room DSP I cut 4 leaves using a leaf die from the Blended Seasons Bundle.  I adhered these to the 4 squares.  I then popped the 4 squares on the Whisper White card base making one of the squares at an angle.   I cut the celebrate using Blackberry Bliss cardstock and Tea Room DSP.  I cut 3 and layered them together giving a bit of dimension.  I also popped this on the front of the card below the squares. I wrapped a length of Grapefruit Grove Twine around the top of the card and tied in a knot.  I scattered a few sequins from the Sequin Assortment over the card.

The inside sentiment panel has leaves stamped in Crushed Currey, Coastal Cabana, Grapefruit Grove and Old Olive.  I used Stampin Write Markers to color each leaf individually.   The sentiment is a combination of Stampin Up and Power Poppy.

That’s my card for today.  Hope you find it to your liking.  I would be happy to show you how to make this card,  just let me know.

Postcard Pals

Postcard Pals

Two cute cards for today using the same stamp set–Postcard Pals.

The first card is in blues and reds and can be and could be any occasion card. I chose to make it a birthday card.

My inspiration to compete in a challenge today is from CAS(E) This Sketch.

I had made these cards about a week ago at a card event to show the participants that you can use the same stamp set for different types of cards, that it is in choosing the paper although the layout can be similar. I felt like a challenge would come around that I could enter them into.

I chose Real Red cardstock as the base for both.  For the birthday card, I used a striped Blueberry Bushel ½ panel from the 2018-2020 Incolor 6 x 6 DSP and a half panel of Blueberry Bushel solid cardstock that I embossed using the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  I taped these two pieces together on the back to make sure I had the correct size for the mat they were being used for.

On the birthday card I wrapped a length of Real Red ribbon around the middle where the two panels met and adhered it on the back with tape. On the Christmas card I wrapped a length of Real Red and Olive around the middle of the card where the two panels met and made a bow to cover the flower by the mailbox.  I suppose you could say the mailbox is in Florida and that is a poinsettia growing by it.

I stamped the art images on a scrape of Whisper White cardstock and colored using Real Red, Blueberry Bushel, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, Garden Green and Balmy Blue Stampin Write Markers and an Aqua Painter.  After drying thoroughly, I used the Layering Circle Framelit Dies put through the Big Shot to cut the image out in a circle.  I used two different sizes as I made it like a frame around the image.  I popped the art image in the middle of the Blueberry Bushel mat using Stampin Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is also from the Postcard Pals Stamp Set.  I didn’t put a sentiment in the Christmas card, I will do that later when I decide on one.

I used the scrap left from the Blueberry Bushel stripe to decorate the envelope flap.  Just put a little glue around the edge of the envelope and then lay the Blueberry Bushel piece on it to adhere.

CUTS FOR THE CARDS

  1. Real Red Cardstock 4-1/4 x 11. Scored at 5-1/2
  2. Blueberry Bushel Stripe 4 x 3-1/4
  3. Blueberry Bushel Solid Cardstock 4 x 3
  4. Whisper White Cardstock for inside sentiment 4 x 5-1/4
  5. Under the Mistletoe DSP 4 x 3-1/4
  6. Old Olive Solid Cardstock 4 x 3. Embossed with Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder

Hope you like my cards.

Just For You

Just For You

The Blended Seasons Stamp Set will be available August 1 -31 while supplies last.  It is a limited edition bundle that I know you will love and use year round!

I really like this stamp set, I used it in an earlier post.  You can do so much with it, just change the layout and color and you have a different card.

  1. I started with a Daffodil Delight card base. It is cut 4-1/4 x 11 and scored at 5-1/2.
  2. To this I will adhere a panel of Old Olive cardstock cut at 4 x 5-1/4.
  3. Next comes a panel of Whisper White cardstock that has been embossed with the Layer Leaves Textured Impression Embossing Folder.
  4. I stamped the flowers from the Blended Seasons Stamp Bundle using Tuxedo Memento Black Ink. This was stamped on a panel of thick Whisper White cardstock as there are several flowers. I also stamped the bird on a little scrap that was left over after stamping the flowers.
  5. The flowers and leaves are colored using the Stampin Blends Daffodil Delight and Old Olive markers. As I do not have a Flirty Flamingo Stampin Blends, I used the Flirty Flamingo Stampin Write Marker to color the center of the flowers. The flowers and bird were then fussy cut.
  6. I colored the bird using a Pacific Point Watercolor pencil.
  7. The flowers and bird was popped on the Embossed Whisper White panel using Stampin Dimensionals. The Whisper White panel was then popped onto the Old Olive panel with Stampin Dimensionals.
  8. The Just For You greeting is from a Paper Pumpkin set. There is a special going on right now with Paper Pumpkin. Check it out here.   Click on Paper Pumpkin when you enter the site.
  9. The inside sentiment also gets a flower in the lower right corner. Part of the inside sentiment is from the stamp set Seasoned with Kindness. The other part of the sentiment is from a long retired Stampin Up stamp set.

That’s it for today.  Hope you liked.
