Here it is a cold weekend and I thought Spring had sprung, but guess there must be more days of cold. Have a great weekend anyway! I really used a lot of stamp sets on the creation of this card. Hello Cupcake, Beautiful Bouquet, Itty Bitty Greetings stamp sets and the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

I am excited that my card qualifies for three challenges that rarely happens.

And… Seize the Birthday

The card starts with a Whisper White card base and a mat of Basic Black card stock for all the different strip of 6″ x 6″ DSP. You can see the different stacks at the bottom of this post.

The strips are adhered to the Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue, leaving a small border between each strip so you have the effect of a mat around each strip. Once all the strips are adhered, the Basic Black mat is adhered to the Whisper White card base using Liquid Glue.

The dragonflies from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies are cut from Basic Black card stock that has an Adhesive Multipurpose Sheet adhered to it for easier adhering. Four sets were cut twice and adhered together. Since there are only five I had to cut twice to have enough for the entire card front. By adhering the four set together it gives them dimension and depth. By using an Adhesive Multipurpose Sheet it makes it easier to adhere the dragonflies together. It is much less messy also as using Liquid Glue you get real gluey fingers.

Different jewels were adhered to each dragonfly to give them a bit of Bling! The Happy Birthday is stamped in Soft Suede on a small scrap and then cropped to a small size to fit the space it is adhered. The card front is finished.

The inside sentiment is stamped in Shaded Spruce on a panel of Whisper White that has been matted on a panel of Basic Black card stock. Two dragonflies are stamped to give the panel a bit of decoration.

My card today is created using the By The Bay stamp set. This set is free during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase. The birds are from the High Tide stamp set. It is a 2-1/3 layer card. The base is Basic Black card stock. The focal panel is stamped on Whisper White thick card stock so the coloring will be absorbed better and not make the paper rough up. It is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink on the full panel. The Stamparatus is great for being able to stamp this. After you have stamped the full panel, place the 1-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ panel in the center of the full panel and stamp again. This will be the panel you will color and mat with a Basic Black mat.

My inspiration comes from the Color Throwdown Challenge for this week.

The center panel is colored using Calypso Coral, Highland Heather, Garden Green, and Crumb Cake inks. The roofs of the buildings are colored using a Calypso Coral Stampin Write Marker. The dark image beside the house is colored with Highland Heather and is made dark for the ocean.The sky is Calypso Coral and Highland Heather sponged onto the card stock. Amazing how different the color can be using different techniques to apply. The birds are stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink using the stamp from High Tide stamp set. The bushes are colored using Garden Green ink that is mixed with water using an Aqua Painter. The walkway and a bit of the wall is colored using Crumb Cake in with an Aqua Painter. The two side panels are left uncolored with the exception of the roofs of the two small buildings. The greeting is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink at the bottom of the center panel. After the coloring is finished, the panel is matted using a panel of Basic Black card stock. It is then adhered over the full focal panel using Liquid Glue. The inside sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink on a panel of Whisper White. The sentiment is from the Well Said stamp set. The birds are stamped in Crumb Cake ink.

Incredible Like You

Today I am using the Incredible Like You stamp set. It is a fun set to use. My card has a Pool Party card base and is embossed using the SubtleTextured Impression Embossing Folder (TIEF). It is a one layer other than the jar with the flowers from the Incredible Like You stamp set.

Today’ s Inspiration comes from The Sisterhood of Crafters. The challenge this week is called “In The Red” Use the color red on your project or card.

And since I am using the stamp set Incredible Like You, What Would You Stamp is having a challenge using that set so I thought why not join that one also.

The flowers are stamped in Lovely Lipstick on a panel of Whisper White card stock. This was done three times as I wanted three flowers. Each flower was fussy cut.

A jar was cut from Vellum card stock using the Everyday Jar Framelits. A length of Linen Thread was wrapped three times around the neck of the jar and tied in a bow. A doily from the Doily Builder Thinlits Dies was cut from a panel of Whisper White card stock. It was adhered to the Pool Party card base using Liquid Glue. I stamped the stems twice for each stem to make sure they were long enough for the jar and still be able to adhere the flower heads to them using Stampin’ Dimensionals cut in two pieces. The stems were adhered using Glue Dots and the flower heads were adhered using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three pears from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls package are scattered to various spots on the card front.

The sentiment is stamped on a panel of Whisper White card stock using Lovely Lipstick ink. A flower and stem are also stamped using Lovely Lipstick and Pear Pizzazz ink.

Hello Cupcake

My card is created from the Hello Cupcake stamp set (free with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration. I also used the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper. The Vellum makes the greeting look blurry in the picture, but in real time it is not so.

My design and inspiration come from the Fusion Card Challenge.

The card base is Coastal Cabana card stock cut at 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2″ and folded on the scoreline. It is stamped using Versa Mark and the Hello Cupcake Sweet Wishes stamp. This makes a great background.
A length of Granny Apple Ribbon is wrapped around the card base and secured on the opposite side.
A 3-1/8″ x 3-1/4″ panel of Gorgeous Grape card stock is cut for the background of the focal panel.
The focal panel is from the How Sweet It Is DSP and cut 3″ x 3-1/8″. The mat and focal panel are adhered together using Liquid Glue, then popped onto the Coastal Cabana card base.
A panel of vellum is cut 3″ x 3-1/8″ and adhered over the focal panel with Liquid Glue that is carefully put on each corner and then spread very thin so it would not show. But before the vellum is adhered to the focal panel it is stamped with the greeting in Gorgeous Grape ink.
The two cupcakes are fussy cut from another panel of How Sweet It Is DSP and color is added by using Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo, and Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Write Markers.
Sprinkles are added to the cupcake tops by using Adhesive Backed Sequins and Glitter Enamel Dots.
The sentiment is stamped on a 3-3/4″ x 5″ panel of Whisper White card stock in Gorgeous Grape ink using the stamp set Hello Cupcake. A large cupcake is also stamped in Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green ink.
A Gorgeous Grape panel is cut 4″ x 5-1/2″ for the mat.
The sentiment panel is adhered to the mat and then the mat is adhered to the card base.

Happiness Blooms with Love What You Do

Seems I used a lot of stamp sets; Love What You Do, Incredible Like You, Well Said in creating this card plus the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP)

My design comes from Freshly Made Sketches. At first, I thought what can I do with this sketch and then it just all seemed to come together and the card turned out to be rather pretty.

My card starts with a Whisper White Thick card base.

The card base is embossed using the Subtles Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF).

Flowers are fussy cut from a panel of the Happiness Blooms DSP. They are adhered to the Subtles embossed card front using Liquid Glue and Mini Stampin Dimensionals.

A 2″ x 4-1/4″ panel of the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper is cut and adhered across the bottom of the card base covering the tip ends of the flowers.

There are four cuts of the Happy from a panel of the DSP like the panel used at the bottom. A piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet is adhered to the back of the panel so when the cuts were made it would be easier to adhere them together. By having four adhered together it gives a bit of dimension to the word. The same was done for the word Birthday only it was cut from a panel of Calypso Coral card stock.

Three sequins from the Basic Adhesive Backed Sequin package is scattered on the card front.

The inside sentiment from the Incredible Like You Stamp set is stamped in Calypso Coral ink on a panel of Whisper White that has been trimmed with a section of the same DSP used on the card front. Flowers are from the Love What You Do stamp set is stamped in Calypso Coral and Call Me Clover ink.
