Celebrate – Enjoy your Special Day

Well, it is Monday again!  Oh! It comes around every seven days.  Did you have a great week end?   It was gloomy outside, but the sun was still shining if you were having fun making cards, especially if that card making was with friends.  I had a great time, we made some fun cards, laughed a lot about having to start over from ink spots on the art piece.  Does anyone else have that happen, almost have your card finished, only need to adhere the art piece and all of a sudden, right there in the middle or corner is a fingerprint or blob of ink.  We could say Oh! That my signature and make sure you include one on each card.  Sometimes you can correct it with a little added bling, but most of the time it is start over. Yuk!

Has this ever happened to you?  I was ready to post my blog, the phone rang, I answered, it was a friend.  She had found this beautiful card on the internet and wanted to know if I could make it if she sent me the picture.  Blessed that she called or I would be causing conflicts.  I know that everything happens for a reason.  Haven’t learned that reason as of yet!   Here it is Tuesday morning 12:40 am and I am just getting Monday posted!! Wheh!  Realized I still had it on private not public.

When I received the picture, I almost broke out in tears.  It was the exact card, I had just written my blog about.  It was almost the exact wording also.  (I guess great minds think alike)!   The only difference was the DSP and the Sentiment, but the rest was the exact color, style, layout.  So, I am substituting a card that I made with a different color scheme.

This was one of the cards we made yesterday.  We used the Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.  I know it looks a lot like the previous card made, but liked it so much decided to try it in different colors.  It looks completely different with a different card base.  Happy I made one so I have it today for my blog.

Recipe for Card

  1. I used Rich Razzleberry as my base. Cut at 4-1/4 x 11. Scored at 5-1/2.
  2. I used Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP for my mat. Cut 4 x 5-1/4. I adhered it to the card base using Tombow Liquid Glue.
  3. The Rich Razzleberry mat for the art piece is cut 3-3/4 x 4.
  4. The art piece is Whisper White cardstock cut 3-1/2 x 3-3/4.
  5. I stamped the art piece in Pear Pizzazz and Melon Mambo using the Thoughts and Prayer stamp set.  I adhered the art piece to the Rich Razzleberry mat with Tombow Liquid Glue, then popped it on the Sweet Soriee Specialty DSP with Stampin Dimensionals.
  6. I adhered Linen Thread around the art piece and mat securing on the back with Fast Fuse. I made a Billy Moan bow from the Linen Thread and attached it with a glue dot to the Linen Thread I had wrapped the art piece.
  7. The sentiment on the front is from the stamp set Amazing You in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog
  8. The inside sentiment is from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and from a retired Stampin Up set, Swirls & Curls Verses. The Happy Birthday had two balloons flying from the a and the p, I covered these up with a piece of tape before I stamped the Happy Birthday so they would not show. I stamped this on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Cut 3-3/4 x 5. I matted this on a piece of Rich Razzleberry is cardstock cut at 4 x 5-1/4.  I adhered it to the card base using Tombow Liquid Glue.
  9. I used Butterfly Basics stamp set from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog to stamp the two small butterflies.   My bling is Rhinestone Basic Jewels from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.

Nine short steps and there you have it — a finished card!
