Flourishing Phrases/Petal Palette Happy Birthday

Flourishing Phrases/Petal Palette Happy Birthday

I think this a lovely card with all the embossed flowers and roses I made for a friend’s birthday.  You may  think it is a hard card to make, but it is simple, just multiple layers

You can see complete instructions here, better than I can explain Debbie’s Designs

Or you can go to Pinterest and put in Z fold cards and you will get all kinds of cards. There are several different z fold as you will find when you search Pinterest.

This is the card all spread out.

This is the card  folded.  It fits in a regular card envelope.

Stamp the art pieces with the Flourishing Phrases stamp using Tranquil Tide ink and then stamp with Versa Mark and use Clear Embossing Powder to  heat set.  Color using Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz ink and an Aqua Painter.  The Vellum leaves are from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit (retired).  You can cut leaves from plain vellum to use.  I had these left over, so I thought why not use.  The rose on the 1 5/8 x 2 panels is from Petal Palette.

These two challenges are the ones I have entered this card in.  Challenge #134 Embossing

Can It Be Your Birthday!

Can It Be Your Birthday!

Can’t believe the time has come for another Amy’s Inkin Krew Team Blog Hop, time flies when you are having fun, and we all know it is fun making cards.

I have to admit, I never liked Mint Macaron when we had it before and thought that I would never use it this time. I thought it would be one of those colors that you just let go by. To my surprise, I decided I love it after seeing Jo Hooper cards on The Crafty Crafter.  You can see that I have CASd one of her cards.  I found them lovely and it sure changed my mind about Mint Macaron.

Here’s the card.   Don’t ask me for measurements, other than the basic card base.  I guessed at measurements and did them the way I chose on the card, from the way Jo’s looks my measurement is definitely not the same.

I used the Love What You Do stamp set, paper from Share What You Love DSP, Linen Thread for the bow and the wrap around on the card.  I used a white Uniball pen to make the stitching around the card base.  I stamped the art piece with Mint Macaron and then Versa Mark and used Clear Embossing Powder to emboss.  I colored it using Mint Macron Stampin Pad and an Aqua Painter.

The sentiment inside is from the Pretty Kitty stamp set.  Stamped in Mint Macaron on a panel of Whisper White cardstock then matted on a panel of Mint Macaron which is glued to the Tranquil Tide base.

Lovely Floral- Celebrate

Lovely Floral- Celebrate

This is a really simple card.  A one-sheet wonder I suppose, as I only used half a sheet of card stock to make.

I used Whisper White card stock and using Stampin Up’s Lovely Floral  DTEIF,  I used Olive Olive, Blushing Bride, and Daffodil Delight Stampin Marks to color the embossing folder then put it through the Big Shot.  I wanted to see how this embossing folder would turn out coloring the folder before stamping.  Maybe it would be better to emboss then use an aqua painter and ink to color the flower.

I used a sponge and lightly sponged around the flower with Blushing Bride but it does not show up.

I stamped the sentiment and did not write it down as to the name and now I can’t find it among all my stamps.  I think I used three different stamps for it.

I have not used this new stamp set before it is available in the 2018-2019 catalog.  This set was given out at OnStage Atlanta.  I think I am going to really like using this stamp set.

I used Whisper White for my card base, then used a panel of Old Olive cut 4 x 5-1/4 and embossed it using the Layering Leaves Embossing Folder.  I think the Layer Leaves goes well with the Animal Outing stamps.  The Share What You Love DSP is a packet of paper you should purchase.  It has so many beautiful different designs of paper in it.  I have used pieces from this DSP several times since being able to buy as a demonstrator after OnStage Atlanta.

The greeting is from the Animal Outing Stamp Set also.DSP on the front.

I have entered this card in the Freshly Made Sketches 339 Challenge.

Also entered into the Just Us Girls Word Week $#443 Outside

I found this new challenge and thought I would enter it also. Why No?  It is called Creative With Stamps.

Coastal Cabana, Lime, Purple

Coastal Cabana, Lime, Purple

My card will be entered in the following challenges Watercooler Wednesday Challenge 172

Paper Players Sketch PP395 is another of the challenges I am entering

I think it is amazing that you can take two pictures of the same card and the colors turn out so different looking.  My Coastal Cabana and Lime Green do not look like the colors they are supposed to be.  The color of the cup with the plant is supposed to be Coastal Cabana but it doesn’t look even close to the stitched circle behind the Lime Stitched circle.

The base is Whisper White cardstock with a Basic Black mat embossed with the Layering Leaves TEFI. This popped on the Whisper White card base.  The Coastal Cabana and Lime Stitched circle are popped on the Layering Leaving panel.  The twine wrapped around the art panel is from the Nature’s Twine collection of twine.  I think it is a beautiful shade of purple.

I cut the art piece from the Color Me DSP and copied it to the Lime Stitched Circle.  I colored the art piece using the Coastal Cabana and Lemon Lime Stampin Pads.   The Coastal Cabana does not look like it is that color.

I did not put an inside sentiment as I have many thank you sentiments to choose from and will choose when I send it.
