Seasoned With Kindness

Seasoned With Kindness

Love these little stamp sets.  I combined the two to make my card.  I got my inspiration this week from the Paper Players.  I made my card landscape instead of portrait.

I used the pot from the Seasoned With Kindness Stamp Set and the Flowers from the In Every Season Stamp Set.

Card base is Whisper White  4-1/2 x 11   Scored at 5-1/2

Mats are Basic Black 5 x 3-1/2 and 4 x 2-1/2 and Real Red 4-3/4 x 3

Stitched Circles are Whisper White and Basic Black.

Art piece is Whisper White 2-1/4 x 3-3/4

Tiny bows are Linen Thread.

Flower colors are Powder Pink, Daffodil Delight,  Old  Olive, Highland Heather watered down a lot.

Inside sentiment is from the Seasoned With Kindness Stamp Set.  I added the “And” by printing with a Black Stampin Write Marker.

That’s it for today.  Have a blessed day and visit again.

Heartland Reflections

Heartland Reflections

I wanted to learn to do this.  I call it reflection.  I watch a video by  Jan B of the UK .  She gave very good detailed instructions. If you want to learn to do this I would suggest watching her video, but there are several on You Tube that have this technique.  Jan said she learned it watching Dawn Griffith video. So it seems it is from one side of the Pond to the other and back.

It looks harder than it really is, just takes a bit of time, the first time you try it.  I’ve made two cards already.  The first one was not too great, I call it my practice learning one.  I will post it at the end of this post.

As usual, I started with the card base, choosing Crumb Cake as the color.  I then cut a panel of Dapper Denim (retired) forgot about that until I started doing my list of Products Used.  I embossed this using the Seaside TIEF.  I cut a panel of Whisper White card stock for the art piece.  I taped everything on the stamp except the little boy, then I stamped him using Memento Black Ink.  Be sure to take the tape from the stamp before stamping or you will have a big blob of black ink. To make the reflection, I stamped the little boy on a sheet of acetate that I pulled out of an old stamp set.  You can always put it back. Be sure to line up the feet when you are doing this.  Once you have carefully laid the acetate piece on down use your bone folder or a brayer to rub over the piece of acetate to get the image to adhere to the paper.  The ink residue wipes off clean with a baby wipe.  I colored the boy using watercolor pencils.

I then stamped the two trees using the Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set.  I only used the top portion  of the pine tree and drew the tree trunk using a Crumb Cake Stampin Write Marker.

I colored the water, sky and bank using an Aqua Painter and Pool Party and Crumb Cake Stampin Ink Pads.

The inside sentiment is stamped in Dapper Denim on a panel of Whisper White matted to a  panel of Dapper Denim and then adhered to the card base. I stamped another tree from the Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set on the inside panel.

This is my practice one.

Three at A Time

Three at A Time

I know many of you are saying Yeah! the week-end is upon us. Here’s hoping you have a fun week-end planned.  Maybe it is going to the lake, taking the kids to the park or just relaxing after a long week of work. Here are a few cards I have worked on.  Made  them for a friend. She was going to a 25th Anniversary party and needed an anniversary card. Also, two thanks you cards for two individuals who had shown extreme kindness and generosity to her family.  I was happy to make for her.  It is a blessing to me to hear of  blessings bestowed upon someone.

First is 25th Anniversary.  Most of the products used in this card are from retired products.  The card base is Soft Sky which is retired, as is the silver panel and the silver leaf panel.  Since this is for a Silver Anniversary, I thought the silver DSP would be appropriate.  The silver thread and ribbon are current from the new catalog for 2018-2019. I cut each panel 2-1/4 x 4. Taped them together on the back and then popped them on the Soft Sky card base.  I could not find my CELEBRATE  die, so I used the alphabet dies to cut out the Celebrate and the 25.

The inside sentiment is from  the Love You Still stamp set the  2018 Occasions Catalog.  The sentiment on the right side, I  typed and printed from my computer.  I had seen a card once with this verse and liked it.

My Second Card is a Thank You card using once again the Springtime Foils DSP. I colored the DSP using Blackberry Bliss and a sponge dauber.  I stamped the bird art piece on a circle cut using Layering Framelit Dies.  I colored the bird using a Pool Party Stampin Write Marker.  The Thank You is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes also Retired but you could use a thank you from any stamp set.

The inside sentiment is from the Petal  Palette Stamp Set.  I also used a panel of the colored Springtime Foils colored with Blackberry Bliss on the inside to decorate the page.

I added a panel of the colored DSP to the envelope flap also.

Third card is another Thank You.  It doesn’t look much like Pumpkin Pie card stock, but that is the color.  It looks more like a tangerine in the picture.   I used the Vertical Greeting Stamp Set.  The Blackberry Bliss mat is 4 x 5-1/4.  The green strip and polka dot DSP are cut 2-1/4 x  5 .  I taped them together on the back and then used liquid glue to adhere to the Blackberry Bliss mat.   The art piece is 2-1/4 x 4-1/4. The Blackberry Bliss mat for the art piece is cut 2-1/2 x 4-1/2. The Pumpkin Pie mat is cut 2-1/4 x 4-1/4 and off set to one side.

The inside sentiment is from the Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set.

Love and Share What You Do

Love and Share What You Do

This is another take on the Love What You Do stamp set and the Share What You Love DSP.  I like using these two, there are so many combinations of cards you can make with all the beautiful DSP. No challenges today, just my own design. The color scheme is rose and wine colors, using the Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugar Plum colors.

The base is Rich Razzleberry. I then made the made using a panel of the Share What You Love DSP, cut at 2-1/2 by 5-1/4. I also cut a panel of Sweet Sugar Plum, now retired, and put it though the Big Shot using a now retired embossing folder.  I cut around the embossed piece to give it more dimension.  These two were taped together and then popped on the Rich Razzleberry base.

I used an oval stitched die to cut the oval for the art piece. I stamped the art piece using the Love What You Share Stamp Set. I stamped in Rich Razzleberry first and then Versa Mark and heat set using clear embossing powder.  I then colored the poppies using an Aqua Painter and Rich Razzleberry ink.  I find it great that you can turn a dark ink like Rich Razzleberry into a pink ink by keeping on adding the water to the ink until you get the shade you are wanting I added a little bling to it after finishing the coloring.

I used a piece of the Share What You Love DSP on the inside sentiment panel also.

That’s all I have for today.  Come Again. Have a blessed day.  Hoping you got inspiration and encouragement from what you have seen today.
