Thank You

Thank You

This card is for the Paper Player’s Challenge this week and I love, love the colors.  Two of my favorite colors are being retired.

Here’s my card

with the recipe to make it:

  • Elegant Eggplant card base, cut at 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2
  • Tranquil Tide mat, cut 3-3/4 x 5. Embossed using one of the Petal Pairs TIEF
  • Whisper White art piece cut 4-1/4 x 3
  • Art piece stamped in Memento Black Ink
  • Art piece colored using Wisteria Wonder and Tranquil Tide Stampin’ Up Ink Pad and Blender Pens.

The Tranquil Tide mat was adhered to the card base using Liquid Glue.  The art piece was popped on the Tranquil Tide mat.

The inside sentiment is stamped using Elegant Eggplant ink onto a panel of Whisper White which is adhered to a panel of Tranquil Tide card stock.  The Whisper White panel was embossed in the right corner using the Petal Pair TIEF. It was colored lightly using a sponge dauber and Tranquil Tide and Wisteria Wonder Stampin Up Ink.

That’s it for now!  Maybe later another one today.  Come again to visit, thank you for stopping by.

Amazing

Amazing

This is a birthday card made for a most amazing person, so the greeting amazing is very appropriate.  When her daughter was very young, she was left a widow.  It has been so amazing to see how she has coped with the terrible tragedy that devastated not only her but family and friends also.  Her daughter is now an adult and she has grown into an amazing person like her mother.  It is always such a joy to see the two of them together. Seeing them you would think they are sisters, instead of mother/daughter.

When I was making this card, the friend I was making cards with ask, “Who is that for”?  When I first started making it I had no idea who the card would be for.  I had not put a greeting or sentiment inside at the time.  Her name immediately comes to mind. I think because she wears these colors often and when I look at the card I see her.  In your mind’s eye, see a dress in this exact design and color.

My design today is from the Just Us Girls Word Week Challenge. Click on the link and join the Challenge, there is still time.

I also entered the Word Art Wednesday Challenge.  You can also join this challenge there is plenty of time.

My card today starts with a card base of Melon Mambo cardstock.   I cut the cardstock 4-1/4 x 11 and scored at 5-1/2.

I cut a piece of the strip Petal Passion DSP and the one with berries and cut each piece 3-3/4 x 2.  I popped these on a Basic Black mat that had been cut 4 x 5. I wrapped a piece of Melon Mambo Polka Dot ribbon around the middle where the two pieces of DSP met to hid the division.

I cut a flower from a scrap of the Petal Passion DSP. I used Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz ink smushed into the ink pad lids and a Blender Pen to color.  Then I fussy cut the colored flower with Paper Snips I received as a gift this past weekend at Stampin Up OnStage.  I really do like how sharp they are and how well they cut.  I popped this on the Petal Passion DSP.  I cut the Amazing using the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies, FREE during Sale-A-Bration with $100 purchase. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere to the top of the Petal Passion DSP mat.  I adhered two of the tiny Melon Mambo hearts from the Enamel Shapes to the top right corner and bottom left corner to add a bit of bling.

The sentiment inside is from the Hold on to Hope Stamp Set. I stamped this in Memento Black Ink on a panel of Whisper White cardstock, matted on a panel of Basic Black cardstock. I adhered a tiny Melon Mambo heart from the Enamel Shapes to the bottom of the sentiment.

That’s my card for today!  Come back again.

Play A New Song

Play A New Song

My theme for this card is from the Paper Player (PP387)

I thought this was going to be a hard Challenge and almost decided against doing it, but then I found this cute picture of a guitar with a butterfly on it.  Then I looked at the picture and thought this is going to be extremely hard to color, but I decided to challenge the coloring.  It took a while, but I finally accomplished it. It isn’t professional but turned out ok.

I started with a Melon Mambo card base.  I cut a mat from Whisper White and embossed it using a musical note embossing folder.  I popped this on the card base with Stampin Dimensionals.  I cut two narrow banners, one from a scrap of musical card stock and one from a piece that was left from the embossing. I find it better to emboss before you cut.  The paper seems to shrink a bit when it is embossed. I used glue dots to adhere these to the embossed mat.

I colored the guitar and butterfly using Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist, Garden Green, Perfect Plum, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight Stampin pads and a Blender Pen.  I mixed the Garden Green and the Lemon Lime Twist, making this a different color of green.  I popped this against the two banners.

I did not do an inside sentiment at this time as I do not know who the card will be going to.

That’s my card. Hope you like it. Come Again!

Hey There

Hey There

Thursday is here again, and as always it is rush, rush, rush at my house.  Need to get organized.  Unorganized me doesn’t get to spend the time I would like making cards.  I must take an organizational class.  Anyone out there teach it.

Just Us Girls is being used for my design this week.  So here is my clean and simple creation.

I started with a Whisper White card base.  I cut a piece, 4 x 5-1/4,  to pop through the Big Shot using the Detailed Floral Thinlit Die.   I adhered this to the white card base using liquid glue.

I fussy cut a flower from the Petal Passion DSP and colored it using Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz stamp pad with a Blender Pen.  I then popped, using Stampin Dimensionals, this on the Detail Floral Thinlit Die-cut, having the flowers flow down the middle of the card.  I stamped the greeting “Hey There” beside the large flower.

I stamped the inside sentiment in Melon Mambo and stamped a flower from the Petal Palette Stamp Bundle and colored it in Melon Mambo and Pear Stampin pad Pizzazz using a Blender Pen.  I adhered this to the white card base using liquid glue.

The card is finished.

Hope you find this simple card interesting and like it.

Come back again!

A Merry Little Wish

A Merry Little Wish

This is my second post of the day.  I happened upon the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and since the theme for the week is Christmas, I thought I would give it a try.  I love making Christmas cards and try making a few all along so I do not get bogged down when it really gets time to make them.

I am using the Woodland Embossing folder and Lovely As A Tree to create this.  I really like using both of these and use them quite often, especially Lovely As A Tree.

The card base is Pool Party cut at 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4.  Crumb Cake cardstock was used to cut a mat 4-1/4 x 5-1/2.  This was popped on the card base.

A piece of Whisper White cardstock was cut at 4 x 5-1/4 and then embossed and stamped.  To give the appearance of the green trees being behind the others, I stamped a tree from the Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set using the Garden Green stamp pad from Stampin Up onto the Woodland Embossing Folder.  I also colored the spaces between the trees to make it look like sky using a sponge dabber and Pool Party Stampin Up ink pad. I then put it through the Big Shot.  Soon I will be saying put through the Gemini!  As Governor Zell Miller used to say, I bite the bullet and bought one because of my hands.

To give the appearance of bark on the trees, I used a Crumb Cake Stampin Write Marker.

I adhered the art piece to the Crumb Cake mat with liquid glue.  The greeting is from a Stampin Up Retired Christmas stamp set.  I stamped it using the Always Artichoke stamp pad from Stampin Up.  I matted it on a small piece of Always Artichoke cardstock and popped it on the card front.

I didn’t stamp an inside sentiment as it is a while until Christmas and I can decide then the sentiment I want for the card.

Hope you enjoy the card!  Come back soon.
