Love What You Do

Love What You Do

My card for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.

My card is made using the new as of June 1, Love What You Do Stamp Set and the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set.  Everyone is going to love these two sets.

I used Tranquil Tide as the card base, cut 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2.

The mat for the Whisper White panel is cut 4 x 3 from a piece of the paper in the Share What You Love DSP.

The Whisper White panel is cut 5-1/2 x 2-1/2. It is adhered to the Share What You Love panel with liquid glue.

This was popped on the Tranquil Tide card base.

I fussy cut flowers from one of the pieces of the Share What You Love DSP and popped on the Whisper White panel that had been sponged lightly with Tranquil Tide ink.

I used the greeting from the Work Of Art Stamp Set to stamp the greeting on the Whisper White panel.

The inside sentiment is from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set. It is stamped on a Whisper White panel using Tranquil Tide ink.  The leaves on the inside sentiment are from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set.  I  fussy cut a flower from the Share What You Love DSP and popped it on the leaves.

That’s it for today.  Come again!

Be Creative

Be Creative

It has been almost two weeks and we are still in the process of cleaning up from the flood the washing machine gave us.   Getting everything cleaned up has been the main thing so my card making has almost been put on hold.  I have very little time for cardmaking, but it is always in the back of my mind and creeps in with oh I want to use that stamp set and make a card.  I have several sets I have never used and I must use them before all the new stamps are upon us.

I am using the Paper Players Sketch Challenge 390 for my design today.

I wanted to use one of the unused stamp sets. I really like this stamp set and can see myself using it again.  I have to give Joanne Cantrell, from Illinois credit for my wanting this Crafting Forever Stamp Set.  She had a cute card at OnStage Atlanta and I ask her the name of the stamp set.

I started with a card base of Berry Burst. The mat is Color Therapy DSP matted on Whisper White card stock and then matted to the Berry Burst card base. The circles are cut using the layering circle framelits.  The Ribbon wrapped around the matted panel is Berry Burst ½ inch Finely Woven Ribbon.

I stamped the art pieces on thick Whisper White cardstock using Memento Black Ink.  I colored them using an Aqua Painter and Retired Watercolor crayons.  I applied Wink of Stella Glitter heavily thinking it would show up better in a picture, but found out differently when I took pictures.

The inside sentiment is also from the Crafting Forever Stamp Set, stamped in Berry Burst on Whisper White.  I stamped the Statement of My Heart on one of the cards from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.  The Statement of My Heart is so appropriate for this card as it says Do Something Creative Every Day.

That’s all for today. Hope you enjoy and return soon.

Pink and Gold

Pink and Gold

Here it is Monday, and I hope this week is much better than last. Last Monday we had a flood at our house and it has been a mess all last week and there is still cleaning to be done to finish up all the mess that happened.  My washing machine took revenge on me and let me have it big time.  Didn’t have time for one card until yesterday and then I made one for a little fellow that has been having a hard time.

My card for today is a combination of Crazy 4 Challenges and Tic, Tac, Toe Challenge 044. I used the top row across.

I started with a Rich Razzleberry card base. I cut a mat from the Painted with Love DSP. I cut a wedge out of it by marking from corner to corner on the reverse side, so I would know how far to cut the wedge.

On the Rich Razzleberry  wedge that shows after adhering the Painted With Love DSP, I stamped using Versa Mark the flowers from the Love What You Do stamp set, (The early release for customers runs 1 – 31 May.)  I then used the white watercolor pencil from the Watercolor Pencil packet to color the flowers.  I thought the flowers would be white, but they have come out a lilac color.  I suppose the white on top of the Rich Razzleberry turns it to that color.

I also stamp a second flower on a scrap of Rich Razzleberry, after coloring it with the white watercolor pencil, I fussy cut it and popped it half on the Rich Razzleberry wedge and on the Painted  With Love DSP.  I added a bit of bling using the Enamel Shapes Embellishments.

The greeting is from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set, stamped on a scrap of Whisper White paper and popped on the Painted With Love DSP.

The inside sentiment also from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set is stamped on a panel of Whisper White and adhered to the card base with liquid glue.  I stamped the flower from the Love What You Do stamp set on the panel below the sentiment using Rich Razzleberry ink.

This is the card without a bow.  I like it better I believe with a bow.  What do you think?

That’s it for today.  Hope you enjoy visiting, come again!

It has rained here for the past three days so this is for all those who are having rain!

Black and White

Black and White

I love black and white together and when you add red it makes it extra pretty.  Hope you like my card for today.  The design is from Just Us Girls  Trend Week Challenge. The colors are black and white with a bright color.

This is definitely an eye dizzying card.  Look at it long and you may get dizzy or so a friend said.

My upline’s upline in Stampin Up said to use up our old DSP  as we all would be wanting new.  So I  am using old DSP.

I made two cards, they are similar but different.  Both use the diagonal strips. The card base for one is Basic Black, the other is Whisper White. The one I am using for JUG  is the one with the black and white swirly top because you can’t post two.

Well some of this DSP has to be 8-9 years old as I could not find the name of some of it.  I did find the Sending Love and Petal Passion on my list that I use.  The Typeset DSP must be really old because I could not find it.  I am sure there are others out there, like me who has this stash of DSP, just waiting for it to be brought back.‘t

Also, the greeting on the front of the cards is from old Paper Pumpkins, can’t remember which month or year. I have kept all my Paper Pumpkin stamps in a separate box over the years. The little scalloped decorative piece is from a retired Stamping Up Punch.

Seems, I used more retired items than new, but the cards turned out beautifully I think.

That’s it for today.  Hope you enjoy!  Visit again!

Bird Banter on A Rose

Bird Banter on A Rose

I love the colors on this card.  My design layout is from SIP Challenge #145.

I like the design of this card, the rose vine with the bird.  It has a very calming effect I believe. The bird makes me think of sitting on my mother-in-law’s front porch watching the birds in the rose bushes.  A very peaceful feeling indeed.

I started with a Tranquil Tide card base.  Cut 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2.  The mat is a panel of Delightful Daisy DSP by Stampin Up.  It is cut 4 x 5.  This is popped on the Tranquil Tide card base. I wrapped a few strands of Linen Thread around the Delightful Daisy DSP.

The art piece with the vine and rose was in a stack of cards I received as a gift when I left my job that was supposedly done away with, only to find it had been given to a board member’s wife.  We’ll save that story for another day.  I colored it using Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, and a Blender Pen. I then fussy cut it, but you know how fussy cuts look there is always a little white border that seems to glare at you.  I used a Blender Pen with Tranquil Tide ink that had been rubbed off until it was faint, then I went over the white edges so they would not glare at me.  I popped this over the linen thread.

The bird was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White card stock using Tuxedo Memento Black Ink.  I then colored it with Tranquil Tide ink using a Blender Pen.  I colored the beak using a Daffodil Delight Stampin Write Marker.  I fussy cut this also and popped it on the rose which was popped on the panel from the Delighful Daisy DSP.

I cut the decorative piece from a small piece of Whisper White using one of the Thinlits from the Petal Palette Stamp Bundle.  I used liquid glue to adhere it to the panel from the Delightful Daisy DSP.

The inside sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up stamp set that was free during Sale-A-Bration a few years back.  I used it at my friend’s house, so do not remember the name of it, but it was one of those sets you had three steps to make the flowers.

That’s all for today.  Come again and thanks for stopping by.
