Sending Wishes

It’s Monday again and it is still gloomy weather outside.   Hurry Spring! Today’s card is from the Basic Butterfly Stamp set.  I really like that stamp set and hope it continues in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, so others that do not have it will have the chance to purchase it

My layout is from Freshly Made Sketches.  I am a beginner at these blog challenges.  I find they can stretch your imagination.

Here goes for today

I started with a card base of Old Olive Cardstock cut at 4-1/4 by 11, scored at 5-1/2, I used Blushing Bride as the mat cut at 4 x 5-1/4.

The Whisper White art piece is cut 3-3/4 x 5. I used the Basic Butterfly Stamp Set to stamp the art piece.  To stamp the ferns, I stamped off once and continued stamping until the ink was too faint to use.

I used the Gold Glimmer Paper for the circle sentiment mat and stamped the sentiment using Memento Black Ink on a piece of Whisper White.  I used my circle framelits to cut the circle.

I punched two butterflies from Blushing Bride cardstock after stamping and embossing with white embossing powder.  I added a Rhinestone as an embellishment for the butterfly and added some sequins as a little bling.

The inside sentiment is on a piece of Whisper White and the stamp set is Picture Perfect Birthday from the 2018 Occasions catalog.

There it is another card!

Beautiful Blooms – Happy Birthday

Beautiful Blooms – Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday!  Seems like it was just yesterday, I was saying Happy Thursday and have a great week-end in just one more day!  It is still gloomy outside, you would think we lived in Seattle, Washington, instead of Georgia with all the rain we have had for the entire month of February.   Spring will be here soon and we will be complaining about it being hot.

Say a prayer for us the next few days if the Lord brings us to mind, my cousin, younger than my youngest son, earned his wings yesterday and is singing with the angels.  It will be a hard time for the family having lost their dad about a year ago in a senseless automobile accident where teenagers were racing and did not see him.

The Lay Out this week is from Stamp, Ink, Paper

Recipe for Card

  1. I used a piece of Kraft paper as my base. Cut at 4-1/4 x 11. Scored at 5-1/2.
  2. The piece of Berry Burst is cut at 3×47/8 for my mat. The mat was embossed using a Retired Stampin Up Embossing Folder. I adhered it to the card base using Tombow Liquid Glue.
  3. The Tempting Turquoise mat for the art piece is cut 3-5/8 x 3. The Basic Black mat that the art piece is attached to is cut 3-5/8x 2-3/4
  4. The art piece is stamped on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using the Beautiful Blooms Stamp Set.
  5. I colored the art piece with Old Olive and Tempting Turquoise Stampin Write Pens. After coloring, I fussy cut it and adhered to the Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue. The Basic Black mat was adhered to the Turquoise mat with Tombow Liquid Glue. I used Stampin Dimensionals to pop the mats with the art piece on the card base.
  6. The sentiment on the front is from the stamp set You’re Inspiring from the Occasions Catalog.
  7. The inside sentiment is from the Beautiful Blooms Stamp Set. I stamped this on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Cut 3-3/4 x 5. I used two mats for this, a piece of Berry Burst is cardstock cut at 4 x 5-1/4.  The Tempting Turquoise mat is cut 3-3/4 x4-3/4. I adhered it to the card base using Tombow Liquid Glue.

There you have it — a finished card!

Celebrate – Enjoy your Special Day

Celebrate – Enjoy your Special Day

Well, it is Monday again!  Oh! It comes around every seven days.  Did you have a great week end?   It was gloomy outside, but the sun was still shining if you were having fun making cards, especially if that card making was with friends.  I had a great time, we made some fun cards, laughed a lot about having to start over from ink spots on the art piece.  Does anyone else have that happen, almost have your card finished, only need to adhere the art piece and all of a sudden, right there in the middle or corner is a fingerprint or blob of ink.  We could say Oh! That my signature and make sure you include one on each card.  Sometimes you can correct it with a little added bling, but most of the time it is start over. Yuk!

Has this ever happened to you?  I was ready to post my blog, the phone rang, I answered, it was a friend.  She had found this beautiful card on the internet and wanted to know if I could make it if she sent me the picture.  Blessed that she called or I would be causing conflicts.  I know that everything happens for a reason.  Haven’t learned that reason as of yet!   Here it is Tuesday morning 12:40 am and I am just getting Monday posted!! Wheh!  Realized I still had it on private not public.

When I received the picture, I almost broke out in tears.  It was the exact card, I had just written my blog about.  It was almost the exact wording also.  (I guess great minds think alike)!   The only difference was the DSP and the Sentiment, but the rest was the exact color, style, layout.  So, I am substituting a card that I made with a different color scheme.

This was one of the cards we made yesterday.  We used the Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.  I know it looks a lot like the previous card made, but liked it so much decided to try it in different colors.  It looks completely different with a different card base.  Happy I made one so I have it today for my blog.

Recipe for Card

  1. I used Rich Razzleberry as my base. Cut at 4-1/4 x 11. Scored at 5-1/2.
  2. I used Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP for my mat. Cut 4 x 5-1/4. I adhered it to the card base using Tombow Liquid Glue.
  3. The Rich Razzleberry mat for the art piece is cut 3-3/4 x 4.
  4. The art piece is Whisper White cardstock cut 3-1/2 x 3-3/4.
  5. I stamped the art piece in Pear Pizzazz and Melon Mambo using the Thoughts and Prayer stamp set.  I adhered the art piece to the Rich Razzleberry mat with Tombow Liquid Glue, then popped it on the Sweet Soriee Specialty DSP with Stampin Dimensionals.
  6. I adhered Linen Thread around the art piece and mat securing on the back with Fast Fuse. I made a Billy Moan bow from the Linen Thread and attached it with a glue dot to the Linen Thread I had wrapped the art piece.
  7. The sentiment on the front is from the stamp set Amazing You in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog
  8. The inside sentiment is from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and from a retired Stampin Up set, Swirls & Curls Verses. The Happy Birthday had two balloons flying from the a and the p, I covered these up with a piece of tape before I stamped the Happy Birthday so they would not show. I stamped this on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Cut 3-3/4 x 5. I matted this on a piece of Rich Razzleberry is cardstock cut at 4 x 5-1/4.  I adhered it to the card base using Tombow Liquid Glue.
  9. I used Butterfly Basics stamp set from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog to stamp the two small butterflies.   My bling is Rhinestone Basic Jewels from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.

Nine short steps and there you have it — a finished card!

Happy Thursday!  One more day and the weekend will be here. Yeah for the weekend.  Do you have fun plans for the weekend or are you like so many others that try to catch up on the weekend what they didn’t get done through the week, especially when you work outside the home.

My color scheme is my own, could not find a Challenge that used pink and gray.  If you know one for this week let me know.  I shall enter.

I semi used the layout from Stamp, Ink, Paper this week’s challenge.  I used lace, flowers, ribbon, watercolor.  I consider the mat cut from the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP (Designer Series Paper) to be embossing as it has a texture when you rub your fingers over it.

I used Blushing Bride cardstock as my base. Cut at 4-1/4 x 11.  Scored at 5-1/2.

I used Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP for my mat. Cut 4 x 5-1/4.  I adhered it to the card base using Tombow Liquid Glue.

The Smoky Slate mat for the art piece is cut 3-3/4 x 4.

The art piece is Whisper White cardstock cut 3-1/2 x 3-3/4.

I stamped the art piece in Pear Pizzazz  and Melon Mambo using the Thoughts and Prayer stamp set.

I tied adhered a piece of Whisper White ribbon around the art piece and mat securing on the back with Fast Fuse. I tied a bow from the Whisper White ribbon and adhered it to the ribbon with a glue dot.

The sentiment on the front and inside is one I typed and printed as I could not find a sentiment appropriate for my card.

The inside sentiment art piece is stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Cut 3-3/4 x 5. I matted this on a piece of Smokey Slate cardstock cut at 4 x 5-1/4.  I adhered it to the card base using Tombow Liquid Glue.

I used the stamp set  Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts, from the 2018 Occasion catalog; Beautiful Peacock from the Sale-A-Bration catalog and Butterfly Basics from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog on the inside sentiment.  If you would like a copy of any of these catalogs, contact me.  My bling is Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

A friend had called wanting a sympathy card so this is the finished product.  Here are two others I made also.

Belated Birthday Card – A Little Birdie Told Me

Belated Birthday Card – A Little Birdie Told Me

It really is a late card.  Today is the birthday and I am mailing the card today.  I have a friend that says the whole month is her birthday celebration, so I suppose it is ok if a card is a bit late.  I used stamps from the 2018 Occasion catalog.  Ordering from it is until May 31 so I have a while to keep ordering product on my list.  Hope you like my card.  Contact me if you would like to join the fun of making and creating cards.

Here is the card recipe:

Card Base:   Cut a piece of Pool Party 8-1/2 x5-1/2 Scored at 4-1/4

Mat: Cut a piece of Peekaboo Peach cardstock 4 x 5 ¼ front mat and inside mat

DSP Mat: Whole Lot of Lovely  cut 3-3/4 x 5

The stamped art piece:   Scalloped Oval Framelits Whisper white cut 3 x 4

  • Adhere your Peekabook Peach mat to the Pool Party  card front
  • The art piece was stamped in Black Memento Ink using the stamp set Bird Banter from the Occasions catalog. Give a few minutes to make sure the ink has dried thoroughly.
  • Color the bird using your Blender pen and the Pool Party stamp pad, use Daffodil Delight Stampin Write Mark to color the bird’s beak.
  • The greeting on the stamped art piece is stamped in Bermuda Bay. I adhered it to the DSP mat using mini-dimensionals.
  • I matted the Sentiment panel on a piece of Peekaboo Peach
  • The Sentiment on the inside of the card is stamped using Bermuda Bay.
  • I adhered these with Tombow Liquid Glue
  • I cut a strip of the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP and fussy cut it to make it look like a vine at the bottom of the inside sentiment piece. I stamped the bird in Memento Black ink, let it dry and then colored with Pool Party and my Blender Pen.
  • I used Linen Thread to make the bow and ribbon around the card.
  • I added one little crystal heart as a bit of bling. I usually put a little heart someplace on each of my cards.

Your card is finished.
